Lahore Fort and Shalimar Gardens are UNESCO World Heritage Sites as an outstanding examples of the Mughal art and architecture during the 16th and 17th centuries. Other important historic monuments in Lahore are the Badshahi and Wazir Khan mosques and the tomb of the Mughal emperor Jahangir.

@@javedsultan4830 A mythological legend, based on oral traditions, states that Lahore was named after Lava, ( lava rama son name and ooru means villege) son of the Hindu god Rama, who supposedly founded the city. Lahore Fort has a vacant temple dedicated in honour of Lava. Likewise, the Ravi River that flows through northern Lahore was said to be named in honour of the Hindu goddess Durga.

i reckon that internal Pakistani Punjab has tens of thousands of traditional Islamic fine arts students and masters who continue to carry the 1000 years old traditions of glass art, blue kashi art of Multan, fine masonry, calligraphy, and mughal murals. Could these Pakistanis, please, volunteer to save their heritage, which is falling apart? 205,000 sq km of Pakistani Punjab is dotted with such monuments. Could we have a program to save the massive unique heritage of Pakistan before it is all gone? Even more intricate and older is the Potohari and Multani heritage.
