The food people eat at home is very different from what you get at restaurants in Pakistan. A typical home-cooked meal consists of usually these things: Bread [like Burrito bread], plain white rice or rice cooked with chicken/goat meat, cooked vegetable dish, lentils, curry or a combination of the above. Occasionally, people eat spicy meat balls, beef mince, Shami Kabob (meat paste mixed with boiled lentil paste and made into patties which are fried). But in restaurants, barbecue style Kabobs and Karahi [chicken or goat curry cooked and served in a wok) with Biryani [yellow rice with chicken or lamb] are lot more common. There are also regional foods. In Peshawar, Chapli Kabob in restaurants are common. These are like burgers fried in oil. In Karachi, a special kind of curry, called Nihari, is popular in restaurants. People go to restaurants very late at night to eat it.
