@@LAHover Once again I seen another new style of "100cc" 2 stoke engine pop up for sale on E-bay....It actually looks promising (but sadly so did the 50mm iron sleeve garbage) It's 49mm piston, 2 piece head & cylinder, 8mm mounting nuts/bolts, allen/hex bolts (non iron sleeve cylinder) and comes stock with a beefy style round cylinder head that looks very similar to the better aftermarket 47mm colored aluminum heads. The cylinder head appears uses more aluminum than the standard stock 47mm heads or a YD100 cyl/head....I'm hoping this engine kit will actually be decent.

Is it safe to assume that all california motorbike kits are going to come with the revised bushing? Also thank you for the honest review of the f zero. I politely ask to keep me in consideration if you ever decide to part with that roller, as the hefty (though fair) price has always managed to be just a bit out of grasp. As always thank you for the high quality content. Safe riding!

If I said California motorbikes when talking about the motor I apologize. As far as I know bicycle-engines.com is the only seller of the P85 ATM... They pulled their stock over a month ago to replace all the bushings. Once they are relisted "In stock" they should all have the new bushings. I have also heard that even newer motors will eventually have needle bearing and will be ditching the bushings all-together. But as of right now I don't know how reliable the needle bearing information is.
@jamesfulerten84942 жыл бұрын
To avoid ring snag try chamfering the cylinder ports slightly. Just create a slight angle on the piston side of the ports. Then sand paper the chamfer using 400 or 600 grit after grinding in the chamfer. For better performance you can also polish the ports after chamfering them and polishing the inside of the intake and the exhaust outlet using polishing compounds. It also looks like you could get away with polishing the inside of the cylinder to a good mirror finish before reinstalling the piston and rings.

Long barrel studs? Shorten them! I typically screw on a nut pst the threads, then hit the end of the studs with an angle grinder or a good sharp file. Take off a couple of threads. Removing your replacement nuts will rejuvenate the threads. Replace all the parts and ... you can figure it out from there.

I want a needle bearing for the wrist pin bearing.

Is there a reason why they used a bushing instead of a needle bearing?
@LAHover3 жыл бұрын
I assume price... The con rod (if not redesigned) would need to be opened up for the larger wrist pin bearing. And that would also weaken the con rod.

Nice :) I did not think anyone would get that reference :) He is a fun and chill guy. Love his channel.

Nothing wrong with acorn nuts. Just cut the studs down. If I were you I'd cut those studs rather than use 3 washers. (My two cents.)

That is probably a good idea.

I might try that, thanks for the tip :)

Have Gen1 and Gen2 P85. Gen2 have massive vibration at high RPM. Gen1 got piston and ring exploded. Graphite injected bushing was fine but it was sure becoming defective. I think piston ring was unable to withstand the heat stress and got exploded due to excessive thermal expansion. May be poor material? What a joke for 300 bucks motor. P85 is really powerful engine but can't run 100 mile. Maybe that's why it's named "Phantom" =(

Hopefully they will get it lined out, motor has potential.

That 85 phantom engine just arrived in Mexico but the only distributor still does not want to sell them since it expects the dollar to increase more to sell it more expensive, according to $ 1000 dollars per engine kit
