There are certain songs that no-one should cover, unless it's Laibach. Your interpretations are always justified whilst showing total respect to the original.

Arranging Strange Fruit with the language European modern period composers used to express the horrors of the world wars is semiotic as hell.

Milan's interpretation in this work puts emotion in each word, his features, the power of his voice, his intonation, it's difficult to express in a text what I see in this video, sensational and unique, it's to be expected.

Beautiful? Idk about that. It's a song about literal corpses hanging from trees, accompanied by disharmonic and almost disturbing sounds. It's a well done piece of art, sure. But beautiful? I don't think it's supposed to even be beautiful.

A Laibach interpretation of Schönberg would be interesting, too. There is some interesting source material on Pierrot Lunaire, for example, just waiting to be rearranged and sung by Milan.

Saw them perform this live about a month ago, a bone chillingly eerie and strong cover especially with the current time war atrocities shown in the background. I hated how some fangirl was dancing around with a grin on her face all along, letting out a loud "woooo" at the end. I can only hope she was completely oblivious to what this song was about.
@jasongoldberg591Күн бұрын
I saw this performed in Croatia a couple months ago - I was shocked when I recognized it, and frozen in awe and time. There was a lot of oblivion in tandem it seemed - scattered laughter and talking - I'm not sure everyone in the crowd knew what was happening.

This is an old song about lynchings in the American south.
@RémiGratis2 күн бұрын
Probably the release date has something against psycho lynchings of voters in Pensilvania, bringing illegal immigrants before the people that were born there and closing the voting places hours before closing time. Cheating in every possible way to keep the demoncrats in the office, assassinations didn't help them. Go Trump even if I am not some big fan of him. But better choose lesser evil from two if you don't have a third choice or any other alternative. Or just go Kamala as Putin said, she has his endorsement. Navalny would be for her too, for sure unfortunately didn't survive Novitschok for the third time. 😂😂😂😂

Timely release for the US... Choose wisely, America
@RémiGratis2 күн бұрын
What does this have with the US and elections there? Yes choose wisely between the two bad, choose lesser one, you really don't have any real alternative there.
@RémiGratis2 күн бұрын
You rube deleted my comment... So much about the US and the land of the free, democracy, and so on. Trump or Kamala, big difference? Not at all. MIC rules the USA, they are the ones that will choose in the end. Trump probably, because they are out of weapons they need peace in Ukraine, they can't make enough for Israel and Ukraine at the same time, they need some 4-8 years to recharge, same as they needed time in Ukraine, and were sabotaging Minsk agreements especially before they pressed the full gas in Donbas and thought Putin is just playing games around the border. Now they can all cry together with Zelensky. Whoever wins they are already dumped Zelensky under the bus... The USA has so many of their own problems they need to solve, if Trump wins they will leave everything Israel, and Taiwan, and Ukraine they have already fucked up so they can only keep sending them Annelena Baerbock so that Zelensky has the shoulder for crying. Just in advance if you think I am Kremlin's bot you are blind Pentagon's bitch. If Kamala wins then may god help you all, but there is no God at least the one that interferes. If there is one then it watches and is laughing at the shit he created and thinks maybe I should send me once again down there, the nails were too thin last time.

Слушаю Laibach уже 32 года. Всегда было что то новое. Кому то нравятся их эксперименты, но мне больше нравятся, когда они сочиняют музыку, а не непонятный авангард. Так что это вот не очень зашло...
