Adrian laying to rest the long-standing project of extending Old School Executioner (5.12c) on the Tombstone out in Cochise Stronghold.

Releasin' footage from January 2021:
A beautiful 40 meter wall, a snow storm, some very good friends & a hot rock in the chalk bag to keep the hands warm; here's a look into what those January days were like.
-------
10 years ago, Geir Hundal lead this climb over 3 days freeing what he could, and aiding the rest. He drilled 3 bolts hanging from hooks on the nearly blank face above the crack.
After working on it a bit he and Eric Rhicard, two of Southern Arizona’s most prominent guidebook authors, decided to place anchors at 100 feet where the first bolt was originally placed. They felt the crack alone would make a phenomenal trad route at the grade and later dubbed this Old School Executioner (5.12c). After freeing the crack, the remaining face climbing above was declared an open project, and the full 40 meter line to the summit remained unrealized for nearly a decade
To paraphrase Eric, “the climbing between the Old School anchors and the arete is a lot harder and will make a great extension when someone decides to put the effort into climbing it."
