12:08 as someone who dances and has been always learning K-pop choreographies, I can say that TikTok has changed the way the choreographies are made. You can see that the dances are made with the purpose of making it easy and viral. For example TXT pre-tiktok choreographies are DIFFICULT but now they’re easier to follow and I feel like a lot more people can do it. Btw love your content keep going ❤

I don't mind shorter songs AT ALL but I have to admit the longer songs and story driven, longer mv's are what kept me personally involved with the content. Without it, they're just good songs in a sea of good songs that I enjoy, but rarely have a long term connection with. That connection is what kept me involved with the fanbase.

This is so real, it’s so annoying when they’re so short. 😭💔. Like, the idols have so much potential but why are the songs so short. Would definitely be better if they were longer, still bops though.

I also prefer 3:00+ songs like you lana. I feel like less than that is abhorrent 😭😭; making the title tracks at least 3:10 minutes won't hurt them at all 🙄

I prefer songs around the 3 min 30s mark so there's just enough time to show us something unique but also not going on for too long cause I'm but another human who's had her attention span reduced WAY too much by shortform content. On the other hand.. story driven MVs are one of my favourite things ever and i wouldnt mind spending all day watching them, I do understand why companies would want to have shorter videos though. p.s unrelated but i missed watching you so much ! guess my night will be spent catching up on your videos heh (not complaining)

Would be cool if Spotify also released total time of listening.

Yeah it would be interesting to see since the song lengths and replay numbers are so closely tied to each other… but time listened would be very telling!

Imo i think like maybe album should be balanced out? Like if you're having 2:56 minute tittle track have 4 ish minute of b side? Also I've recently noticed the number of b sides decreasing i am not sure if i am only one tho

This is such an interesting concept to explore! I personally don’t mind a shorter song if it feels like a complete idea or if it’s part of a narrative thread that fits into a larger album-much like you and most of your audience, I adore a concept album! But then that begs the question: what makes a song feel like a complete idea? You could argue for a title track it’s that intro-verse-chorus-verse-bridge-chorus pop formula, but nowadays it feels like more and more songs are skipping elements of that or shortening them, ex. there’s no intro in Do It Like That and the chorus starts 25 SECONDS IN! I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with, it’s just interesting. But like you said, it always goes back to the money, and as far as I’m aware, streaming income is probably a small fraction of the overall pie, so I’m not sure how much that influences things, but kind of like with short-form content, the more “bite-sized” a song or its pieces are, the more marketable it is. More of these videos would be awesome! (Also the editing in this was amazing and I love your daydream sweater I want it so badly)

That's a great point - sometimes shorter songs feel like they've removed part of the idea or pushed everything together rather than let it play out entirely. (also, I did not realize the chorus for Do It Like That was so early on, omg) Streaming income I don't think is a huge number either! But good numbers and high rankings on charts probably play a large part in a sales pitch for things that do - concerts, shows, brand deals, etc. Of course having a little coin from people actually listening to the song couldn't hurt either. And as you mentioned, the bite-size feel of songs make it attractive and the more they can market it, the more they gain from it as well. Thank you so much for your comment - I wasn't too sure about the reception for this video so I'm really glad you enjoyed it!! I'll definitely be working on more for sometime in the future. :D

What I don't want is for artists to set a time and then create a song around it. Many of these short songs sound kinda unfinished. Sadly those artists that don't care about length and just produce their art how they want, are then put at a disadvantage in charts

Sometimes 2~ minutes is enough for a song. For example when the artist is able to put a story in a short amount of time, so they don't need to make the song longer by adding an extra chorus or something. It's also okay if it's just a catchy song without much meaning (like it's good sometimes to turn off your brain and just vibe). Plus the possibility of you getting tired of the song is minimal. However, when it's done purposely only for a bigger amount of streams, views and stuff, it's sad. Sometimes I listen to these songs and feel like they're just unfinished, something is missing. Like literally, I just started vibing and the song is already over? Moreover, when it comes to kpop, another problem I see is that in this industry we can mostly see groups, in which there're 5 and more people, but how is this possible for 5 or more people to have equal parts in a 2 min song? It's always been a problem even when the songs were longer, but now I feel even more sad because of it.

Oh definitely the odd short song is totally fine! I love the variety on an album with different song lengths! It’s more that it’s a trend for the title track to be short, such that we can easily look at recent comebacks and see it… I totally feel you on the vibing thing too- like I was just really getting into the song and it turns out that was the last 20 seconds and it’s done ): Also the line distribution is a great point that I hadn’t even considered! I wonder if the trend continues, if we will see smaller groups because of it????

i wanna point out sweet venom, the title track, is way shorter than the albums intro 😭😭 meanwhile bite, their last comeback, is also only 6 seconds longer than the intro

What do you think of Enhypen's intros?
@LainaSunflower
@LainaSunflower 10 ай бұрын
I really love their intros! I think invitation is my favourite still. I love how they tend to layer their voices together tbh!! In terms of length I think it’s fine if an intro is shorter since it’s not meant to be a full song either.

@@LainaSunflower i highly doubt they would take our reactions constructively considering the massive success of grps like newjeans and even txt in previous cbs with abysmally shorter songs and just from a moa standpoint, i genuinely don’t want another happily ever after situation with one member having like half a line for the ENTIRE song. and HEA felt like an outlier but looking at the track lengths for this cb .. i’m genuinely worried
