LYRICS:
I can hook a trailer on a two inch hitch
I can shoot a shotgun I can catch a fish
I can change a tire on the side of a road
Yeah I know a few things a man oughta know
CHORUS
How to know when it’s love
How to stay when it’s tough
How to know you’re messing up a good thing
And how to fix it fore it’s too late
And yea I know a boy
Who gave up and got it wrong
If you really love a woman you don’t let her go
Yeah I know few things a man oughta know
If I can’t have it I can do without
I can hang a picture same as I can take it down
And how to keep it hidden when a heart gets broke
Yeah, I know a few things a man oughta know
REPEAT CHORUS
How to know when it’s love
How to stay when it’s tough
How to chase forever down a driveway
How to never let it get there in the first place
And yea I know a boy
Who gave up and got it wrong
If you really love a woman you don’t let her go
Yeah I know few things a man oughta know
Yeah I know few things a man oughta know

This is such a Beautiful song with a meaningful message..... This song reminds me of my mama she raced three brats on her own as a single my daddy wasn't around so there was a lot of things that my mom learned that a man should know and she taught us how to check the oil change a tire and check the swamp cooler see if the water level is high and to check the float.... My mama was the one that taught us things a man should know.... And I feel there's a lot of single moms out there that can definitely relate to this song... Sometimes single mothers are left to raise men on their own and it's the mothers that are teaching those boys how to be Men. This is such a beautiful song Thank u Lainey Wilson and God bless you!!!

Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. They're either lonely, they're missing somebody, they're depressed, they're hurt, they're scarred from the past, they're having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldn't believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting here reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you dont feel alone anymore. Always remember, don't be depressed about the past, don't worry about the future, and just focus on today. If today's not so great don't worry! Tomorrow's a new chance. If you are reading this, be sure to share this around to make others feel better. Have a nice day!"

This song shows a lot of young girls exactly how strong they can be. It shows them that they don't need to depend on a man for anything. It teaches them to be strong, know their worth, and that they can do ANYTHING a male can do. Keep up the good work girly❤

Both men I had children with have been like this. My 2.5 year old sons father is 31 and struggling to grow up in the slightest, my older sons father was an alcoholic and still has no idea how to treat others, especially who are different than him.. Luckily our son takes after me and is q genuinely kind human being. ❤ One man though, he stood by my side and he is the only true man I have ever been with but he could still learn a thing or two about being a man. Can't all men learn a little? This song is so on point and just reminds me NEVER to settle! I don't NEED any man. I can take care of myself. 😌

I couldn't agree with you more. For the first time in my life (34), I have a real man by my side, and I wouldn't trade what we have for the world. Not only was he patient with me in helping repair the emotional damage my violent exes caused, but he is the most supportive man I've ever met. He's my rock, and I try every day to make him as happy as he makes me. Knowing and loving him is a blessing.❤

Just cause you know how to do it, doesn't mean you need to be doing them, if there is a man who can also do it.😉 It's wonderful to know how to do things, if you need to get things done when you are on your own, but give the guys a chance to be a man. 😁 Real men with character like to comfort their woman.

Great song girl, I too know a few things a man ought to know... considering that I was raised by a daddy with one arm , I was the right hand for him . But , I can rebuild a carburetor, put blades on a mower, and lots more. I sure miss him so much. This song makes me think about him always. He never raised a girl who couldn't take care of herself and he truly did a great job.

It really doesn't matter what you do when the person you married 20 years ago does a 360 and turn into somebody I don't even know. He would try at least to put me first but now it's like I'm a stranger to him . We can't even sit down and carry on a conversation without there being some bullshit behind it. Sorry just venting. Hold on to your hope and you will always be able to carry your faith. This must have been part of God's plan so sit and wait. Hopefully he knows what he's doing. God's timing... Much love to everyone struggling with something. Just slow down and don't over think it. Note to self just trust..,

Young man. Take the red pill. Don't believe the Disney story line the world is feeding you, it is a comfortable lie. The difficult truth is you need to be strongest, smartest and richest version of yourself to be successful. The difficult truth is the traditional woman you are virtue signaling to are long gone. You are playing the love me because I'm pure & good game, this is the game of the weak. You MUST put yourself first and become! Women choose the strongest, smartest and wealthiest versions of men. Deep down even now you know this is true. I feel bad for you... I hope when you find out the truth it doesn't hurt you too much.

This song reminds me of my little sister (32) she’s a tough cookie, she can shoot, lift heavy weights, drive a truck, change a tire, all of that, and she still looks beautiful in heels and pearls. I guess when you grow up with 3 Brothers, you learn not to take shit from anyone. Her poor husband 😂

Great song. To all the young and old, set boundaries, stick to what you believe in and “if you can do as a man " “then the boys will stay away from you as you are an independent, strong woman. That need no help from a man/boy. As a strong, independent woman, gives you the option of choice When it comes to a relationship. You can make it on your own with or without him, the only reason to have a partner is if they compliment your life and your goals, never settle for less.
