I used to be the daughter that was always stressing about my dad having a drink when I was young bc society made me believe that we all had to be perfect at all times. Being a mother now, I realize we all mess up in different ways. None of us are perfect. We just do the best that we can, and hope our kids learn from our mistakes. We all have something a little less than perfect that everyone can judge us for and make us look like a failure to our children over. Stay strong to those who actually battle tremendous addiction issues. Just do your best. ❤❤❤

my dad drank alcohol up until a year and a half ago. he quit drinking on February 23rd when my little sister drew him a picture of him and her and he had a beer in his hand. my mom showed it to him and he knew he needed to stop. I haven't seen him touch anything with alcohol since that day.

Yes, this song is amazingly written but, that last chorus should've changed how "deddy" was drawn, especially since her hook says he's seven years sober. One simple change like that can elevate a song.
