Elusive electronic producer Lainist returns to Vivarium following last year's stunning drum and bass opus 'The Nightmare of Fabrication' with a fresh vision of digital doom on their new EP, 'till you're alive your life in your own'. Their penchant for narrative continues to shine on the four tracks here, transmitting emerging perils of the singularity as pulse-pounding techno awash in an atmosphere of neon dread. Not unlike their 'Deathfront' EP from 2021, we are offered respite after the violence of 'Mind=Rampart' and 'Release' with a peek into the natural world, but a looming sense of danger persists. Lainist resurrects this conflict to warn us this is just the beginning. The cycle continues, and in our neural interconnectedness, we will be perpetually trapped in its churn.
