Can't believe you made this video. I wanted to thank you for this. I'm one of those people that forgives flawed games overtime. And after watching fight scenes in "House of Dragons," this game fascinated me.

You are welcome. I am glad you enjoyed my review. It's definitely a flawed game, but not an awful one like it was made out to be.

On paper this game really had potential, the only huge problem was the forced motion controls. Beyond that I liked the idea being a dragonrider fighting in massive battlefields, my only other quip about the game was the limited options of dragon mounts in the game.

Haven’t played this game since launch. Hated the Sixaxis controls. 13 years later and watching your video. Learning they updated it with analog. So much better. It’s November of 2024 and I’m actually somewhat enjoying it now.

It's not as good as the Rogue games for sure. It's still fun but flawed once you can control it. I'm glad I could inform you of the analog patch, because it's only a matter of time before the PS3 store suffers the same fate as the Wii and 360 store

@ yeah the Rogue one games were legit. It’s not Factor 5 faults however. Sony was pushing the new Sixaxis feature because they wanted to show off the motion control ….. 🤦🏻♂️. Since I reinstalled this game. I was able to make it to level 6 actually lol I’m enjoying it. Some flaws here and there but other than that. It’s still enjoyable and playable in my opinion.

@@tyrannosaurus62 I guess that's why I made this my first review in this channel. Mostly to get people to give the game a second chance because I really enjoyed it, but also to get people to go get the analog patch before the PS3's Playstation store is shut down.

Nice review. I’ll download that control patch right away 😂 From looking at the gameplay, I kinda get a Drakengard vibe from it. more specifically the flying missions

I need to play Drakengard someday. I've owned it on the PS2 for years, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

This game had so much going for it, huge scale air to ground, Rogue squadron devs and Dragons! But unfortunately it doesnt even come close to even the dragon levels from reign of fire game. Lair is a Byproduct of a tech demo bloating into a game when maybe it shouldnt have
@ANobodyReviewsGames-wm9gg Жыл бұрын
I enjoyed the game for what it is, but I definitely agree with the tech demo take. They were just trying to do too much. From and article I read on the game, it seems that they didn't even know what they wanted to make the game into during most of it's development. It probably would have worked out better if Factor 5 just scrapped the game, and used the tech they developed in the game on something else. The soundtrack is amazing though.

I vaguely remember seeing gameplay videos of this game, thinking that I would love to play it. I mean, who wouldn't? You flying a freaking dragon, of all creatures. That sounds peak. However, hearing about all the gameplay issues and several glitches this game had, it's sadly putting me off from trying it out. Which really sucks, because it does indeed look like a fun game to play. Frankly, I wish we had a game like Lair in modern times for the PS4 and PS5. With tigher controls, updated visuals and art direction, engaging gameplay, etc., that theoretical spiritual successor game would be awesome to play.

It's still worth playing. It did keep me engaged in it despite it's flaws. For a cheap price, it's worth playing.

@@ANobodyReviewsGames-wm9gg I suppose I'll give it a chance in the future. But frankly, I'm not too optimistic.

I actually like this game. It's no masterpiece, the flaws are so obvious It's not even funny. But I like it. It's simple fun. But I HAVE to switch to analog stick controls. Not because the motion controls of the six axis are bad (which they are) but because I have a snakebite WIRED controller! It does not come with six axis MEANING ANY TIME A GAME REQUIRES MOTION CONTROLS I CAN'T PLAY PAST THAT PART! The fact that a controler was made for a system without an integral part is BEYOND me. (Edit: I went back to play it and the controls problem is even worse cause I forgot you have to shake to break stuff off or do certain attacks without them you cannot beat the game so I am literally just stuck without a proper ps3 controller) But aside from that. The story was .... very predictable. (Spoilers) I knew from the moment the first mission began the starting nation was gonna turn out to be the bad guys and we were gonna be betrayed by this guy and our dragon was gonna die and we were later gonna find the one that we let go and submit to it instead. ... All of this was obvious. From the first non tutorial mission. Doesn't make it a BAD plot. Just a predictable one.

Yeah, unfortunately, you need a sixaxis controller to play this game. Other controllers work great for most ps3 games, but a lot of early games were forced by Sony to have sixaxis implementation
