I'm incredibly fascinated with watching surfing now. I watched the documentary on Garrett McNamara's attempt at Nazare in Portugal. Now, whenever it's on TV , or especially on youtube, I'll watch any surfing video. People like Laird, DaveK, Kelly Slater and Garrett who have been around forever, the men who have brought surfing to the forefront, should be commended. I'm almost 67 and I think it's amazing what these brave athletes have done for years.

Pretty sure this just broke a few days back .. its quite rare swell direction to hit it right. The reason there isn’t much footage is because on very big days, most people will always hit Jaws. Just the way it goes when the best and biggest big wave spot on the planet is on the same island.

The last Real Men of surfing. They found Jaws and had the balls to go for it when it was unknown. Coulda been suicide but they were prepared for it. Easy to follow, hard to lead, just like in life! Respect to Laird and Dave K. Always at the cutting edge (tow ins, hydrofoils etc)>

laird & dave didn't find jaws. hell, when someone older, and wiser, told them about the wave it wasn't even called "jaws." the more you know, gary….
