This video is a dive briefing to shore dive Lake Andrea located in Pleasant Prairie in Kenosha County, Wisconsin. Pleasant Prairie is just north of the Wisconsin/Illinois boarder. This video will give you directions to the lake (coming from Milwaukee) and recommends a parking and lake entry spot. This is an easy shore dive for new open water recreational divers with their dive buddy.
The lake is 110 acres of spring fed water 4 to 45 feet deep. In the summer, the average water temperature is 70-80 degrees. Scuba gear is not allowed in the designated beach area, so watch the video for suggested access. There is an $8 beach pass fee for non residents.
There is almost no boat traffic on the lake. Boats with motors larger than an electric trolling motor are not permitted on the lake.
Unlike may other inland S.E. Wisconsin lakes, this one is not very weedy, and visibility is generally good. Common fish are panfish: bluegill, pumpkin seed, sunfish, crappie and yellow perch. Bass and northern can also be seen.
And, as you will see in this video, crawfish.
