Alex Conti is for sure one of the best guitarrist in germany and in the world.! he have huge talent very bad that they have not many million views like they deserve !! for me this is real music this is real talent this is something you have to train for many many many hours a day and in your life. its like a boxing champion. you have to train and to train and Lake is a Championsleague Band with the Champion ALEX CONTI!

What you have to understand that at this time in music history this music fit in perfectly. All the songs had great melodies. Fun stuff that combines all the elements of songs written those days. Lake did a great job figuring out what people liked to listen to.

Excellent musicians, James vocals pristine, Detlef Petersen's production work is superb, the mixing is spot on.... I wore out my first copy of this album. I'm glad I have this to play occasionally.

I remember hearing this song when I was stationed in Heidelberg about 35 years ago.....I knew Lake did this song, but I didn't know the title of it...until now! Over 10 minutes of musical ecstasy that I had not heard since my time in Germany - beyond awesome! Thanks so much for posting this!

A friend of mine gave me this in 1978 on our way to waterpolo practice. Still listen to it today in 2020. It seems like 3 days ago he handed this to me...time is flying by.... super underrated band....

Heard this on the pirate radio way back in 76. Was the first album purchase I made! Its my opinion that the guitar solo is one the best - ever!... One of my most favorite songs.... (nice video too😊 )..

I remember this playing in my 8-track! Had to wedge a folded up matchbook in the deck to get it to play right. Lotsa girls, lotsa joints, 70 cent gas. Nice.

One of the most underrated bands of the 70’s! They were vastly overshadowed by that great German band,The 🦂 Scorpions! I think these Germans were as good as those Germans!Plus,they had 🎹 keyboards!

I still have no clue why this talented group wasn't bigger in the States. Their songs are in English and they snuzzle in with other huge mutli member harmony rock groups of the 70's like Doobies, Chicago and other soul based groups of the era.

Saw the guys as an opening act for Nektar in 1977 at the Palladium in NYC. They closed with this number! They blew the roof off with this tune!

Thanks for posting this tune. I too have the original vinyl in my collection which is mostly from the late 60's/mid 70's. I don't think that era will ever be duplicated. This is by far my favorite Lake cut.

I saw these guys in St. Louis in 77' as a warm-up act. I had never heard of them. They were really, really good. I went out and bought their 1st Album the next day. Very under-rated group. Great Post!!

So genial!! Ich liebe diesen Song, er ist so herrlich, auch zum Mitsingen. Und der Text so schön, und so lyrisch. Ich finde, damals wurde wirklich viel mehr Wert auf so etwas gelegt. So herrliche Musik finde ich zur Zeit leider nirgendwo. Ich hoffe immer noch sehr, dass die 60er bis 80er Musik, mit ihre Fantasie in den Texten und ihrer Perfektion in den einzelnen Instrumenten, wie Schlagzeug, Orgel, Gitarre etc. daß das wieder ein bisschen mehr zurückkommt und dem Neuaufkommen von Schlager den Garaus macht. Denn ich denke damit sollen wir wie einst von Udo Lindenberg im Lied "Gene Galaxo" besungen, sorry, VERBLÖDEN.

This is available on CD. I got a copy of Lake/Paridise Island (2 LP's on 1 CD) at CD Reunion in St. Louis, MO. My wife never heard this band before and loves them now. I always thought they should have made it bigger than they did. What a great sound they had! Man, it brings back the memories for sure! Thanks for posting.

I don't remember these guys either. I love this tune. It reminds me of, not in style by any stretch, the long beautiful jams that Pablo Cruise did. Stylistically the 2 bands are pretty far apart, but as far as uplifting and just all out cool jams this rates right up there.

I was always impressed that every song on their albums were good ...maybe not fantastic but always had something that was interesting and memorable ....listening to them 30 + years later and I still have the same opinion

Was für ein geiler Song und was für ein Hammond-Sound !!! Insbesondere der in weiten Strecken improvisierte Outropart ist selbst nach 40 Jahren schlicht genial. In diesem Song präsentiert sich Deutsche Rock Musik von ihrer besten und unvergleichlichen Seite. Die Musiker dieser Bandbesetzung sind maßgebliche Urgesteine Deutscher Rock Musik. Als junger Kerl habe ich damals meinen Einstieg in die Live-Musik gefunden und diese LP rauf und runter gehört. Ich denke deshalb mit ein wenig Wehmut an diese tolle Zeit - wish I had a time machine ... Danke für die Aufnahme!

Wir hörten Lake mit unseren Kumpels die alle sehr Musik interessiert waren so im Alter zwischen 14 und 16 Jahren, da machten alle schon mal ihre ersten eigenen Band Erfahrungen. Leider war Lake in Deutschland gar nicht so erfolgreich wie in USA. Deutsche Bands hatten es damals schwer bei uns.

Fritz Hansen Die Band gibt es immer noch ... natürlich fehlt James ... seine Stimme ist und bleibt unverwechselbar und ist eigentlich kaum zu ersetzen ... Ich liebe Lake und konnte es kaum fassen , dass sie bei uns quasi " um die Ecke " gespielt haben !! Dieses Jahr kommen sie wieder und ich steh in der ersten Reihe ;-)
