@@piano.music88 I was born in England,December 30th, 1946. My father was a British navel officer. We traveled to Australia by sea when I was a little girl .We stopped in many ports, l remember so much. We returned to England after almost 3 years and returned to Australia when I was 10. Again about 3 years. I have been through the Suez canal 3 times. In 1956 we were required to divert around The Cape of Good Hope due to a closure of the Suez canal, thus we had the opportunity to visit Cape town South Africa. In 1960 we came to Canada, I have lived in many parts of Canada and was a snow bird spending winter time in Florida until recently. I have cruised the Caribbean and the Fijian islands. I have returned to Australia twice as an adult,.I have returned to England several times as an adult. I have been very fortunate.

My partner and I spent two weeks in Slovenia in the summer of 2016 which was really hot weather when we went. We stayed in a village called Kransja Kagora which is a ski resort high in the mountains. We went to Bled on two occasions and spent time at the castle and its museum and of course did have some Bled cake at the castle which was truly amazing and you are right is the best in Slovenia.

The best time to visit Bled is in the coldest time of the winter when the lake is frozen, and you can walk up to the Island. You should have taken the cable car to the Vogel mountain up the Bohinj lake. Then you would have a really good sightseeing point to all the mountain peaks and down to the lake. Prices in Bled are quite higher then elsewhere in the country though.

Hm... I would say you had luck with the weather... It was one of the warmest winters in last few years... winter can be really cold here, at least it’s usually... :) so I think May/June and September/October would be the best months to visit if you don’t want to visit in the ‘high season’( and summer is also nice, but it can get crowded at “tourist points”)
