Lake boats in Buffalo 2000

Do ships or barges still go past South Park Ave., to the Buckeye terminal? I'm from Albany, and love shipping/canals in NYS so I am curious. Thanks!

Buckeye maintains that dock in "Idle Status". That means they officially intend to keep it in operational condition, but they don't actively use it at this time. Their Haz Mat certificates are expired so if they decided to do it, there would be some legal housekeeping to take care of first, but if they really want to, they can use it. The fire boat goes up there breaking ice & the dredge rig also uses the bridge to get up river with their derrick boat & barges so it's still used.
