Lake Como is so underrated. In the UK for some oddball reason it's perceived as somewhere retired people go on a geriatrics coach trip. What a bizarre, twisted kind of reputation, eh? The plus side of Lake Como being so lowkey is that it remains civilised, peaceful and populated by a more gentle type of tourist. I highly recommend both Varenna and Bellagio. It's absolutely glorious and the most peaceful, beautiful place to spend a a few nights if your mental health dictates that you NEED a break from the aggressive, overpopulated, riot-prone, ugly, lawless, unstable land that is England. Sorry but there it is.
