Lake District Family Camping - VW T6 Camper Van - Campsite Hopping

Part one of our family Lake District camp in our VW T6 Camper Van...
No toilets, no showers... No problem - We campsite hopped, socially distanced, climbed hills and ate ice cream..
Our first trip away as a family for 4 days...

Oh man, awnings... when I first got my T5 campervan, I literally went through all sorts of awning/canopies until I settled in the end for a Fiamma wind up awning. So much faff LOL

Hiya - I was exactly the same, I must have exhausted ALL of the KZbin channels for campers before I took the plunge and bought my own van - We have made a note to add some more evening filming too - including the setting up of the beds and chilling at night time - The channel is still very new so we are learning as we go but we are 100% committed to not turning it in to a "cash generator" channel and keeping it as real as we can - So glad you are enjoyin the videos - there are plenty more to come too, also glad you like my humour haha!! Nice video again. I had the same awning trauma this week. Made it through the night, went to buy orange top pegs in the morning. Got back to find two guys from neighbouring caravans wrestling to keep the awning down. It took off in the wind and with a sewn in ground sheet went round like a tumble dryer with table and chairs inside

Thanks Kev... when olivia was 7 we spent half our time carrying her on walks like that 🤣🤣!! I’ve just watch another one of your videos and it is a C and H roof lol.....I’m having one fitted in November by them,looks nice have you had any issues with it leaking and is the quality of work good?

No issues whatsoever buddy.. i recommend getting the wind deflector and a wire that pulls in the canvas but all good at this end bud!

I built my van 5 years ago,only just getting the roof lol.....one of the best things I bought was a diesel heater(cheap Chinese one)you getting one?Never had an issue with it,great videos by the way lolol

Great vid, it never occurred to me that different pegs would be required for hard standing. I will now remember that when we get our awning. Looks like you had some fine weather. Did you do much photography or was this time with the family?

I know, also a different hammer, the rubber one isn't solid enough to hit the bigger pegs in... I didn't do lots of photography, mainly family snaps managed to get a handful of half decent snaps though ;)

Hey matey, the thicker the better (you wont be able to leave it up there though as there wont be enough room for the lid to close) - we just use a memory foam topper from amazon cut up and doubled up with the matteress that came with our sofa bed = comfy as!
