Still easily one of the best channels on KZbin and by far the best running channel, by a country mile. One thing that is always bang on the money is the music. I often find other channels have the right music but it’s too overpowering in one sense or the other. You had it cracked from day one.

Thanks Nathan that means a lot I appreciate it. Yeah the music has been a work in progress, I’m still trying to dial it in. It’s good to have someone else’s perspective 👌🏻

@@lakelandtrailrunner no problem 😊 Just wondering if you carry any extra gear for 'just in case' in winter
@lakelandtrailrunner Жыл бұрын
@@jjjjames5824 I do mate. I have a v lightweight down jacket and dry base layer in case I have to walk/hobble back. I carry minimum FRA kit always. Now the snow has arrived in earnest I’ll carry spikes and maybe a small ice axe.. it depends.

Great vid John, I was up there on the same day. The footsteps you saw at the top of the gully were where the paragliders took off.

Love the channel John, thanks for sharing your adventures with those of us who only get up to the Lakes a couple of times each year, its great to see what these locations look like during these winter months. Take care and thanks again 👌

Loving the long format mate. Inspires every time....message = g😢et out on the fells as long as you can no matter what the weather. Admit I had to google Sam Sulak😅. Keep on running snd keep on filming!! Cheers mate.

Loving the colour coordinated outfit John, buff . . . top . .. leggings.. pack... all there.. . you're not only a fell and gym god, you're also a fashion god too!! 😉😂 Seriously, another great vid John, keep 'em coming. I've done the horseshoe literally dozens of times (at one time, it was my go to route) but have never been up Kentmere Pike that way so one I'll definitely look out - looks interesting. Have you stopped using poles now?
@lakelandtrailrunner Жыл бұрын
Ha thanks man. When I was editing the vid I realised the same thing.. colour coordination was coincidental. Yes I’ve sacked the poles off for the time being. Unless I’m planning a long distance. 30+ miles. Which I haven’t for a while. I started using them because of an Achilles injury which is resolved now. But now I’m training for fell races I’ve stopped using them.

Love the videos John. I’m coming up to the Lake District over Christmas time, staying near Coniston water. Any favourite routes near Coniston you could recommend? Keen to explore the fells, but nothing too extreme!
@rowangawne Жыл бұрын
Definitely do the Coniston Old Man, Brim Fell, Swirl How, Wetherlam loop. Very nice views and terrain and under 20km.
@rowangawne Жыл бұрын
13.5km to be precise

I agree with Rowan on the loop it’s a good day out. Also, if you’re looking for something low ground or the weather is bad check out Cathedral Caves in Little Langdale. Park up in Tilberthwaute Low. You can do a loop coming back over Great Intake. 👌🏻

Thanks for the recommendations, ended up slightly restricted by the weather over Christmas, and of course it was a family holiday! We walked to the Cathedral Caves which my young son loved and up Coniston Old Man on Boxing Day which was beautiful. I had to be content with a couple of runs from our cottage up and around Blawith knott which was still a delight!

Love it, as always. I need to know mate, how many pairs of running trainers do you own?? Is it in excess of 8?! Hope you’ve got good ward coffee for that graveyard shift ⛰️
