Hi mate which campsite did you guys end up staying on? We are heading to lake eildon and plan to just fish from the bank the little ones and I would be happy to catch what you guys were getting from the banks any day !
@eitai2001 Жыл бұрын
Hey Alan. Great video. The campsite location looks so good. Is it a parks Victoria campsite, or just a free campsite? Have you got any more details on it? I've never been up there, looking for some nice campsites.
@fishingmad Жыл бұрын
Heaps of free campsites around Goughs Bay. We just got in the 4wds and drove for ages until we found one.
@eitai2001 Жыл бұрын
@@fishingmad Awesome, thank you. I've never free-camped before ... but with inflation, keen to start!!! I've got a plastic tinny, so this sort of spot looks perfect. I can still launch it into there without a boat ramp! I assume there is no amenities in these spots?
@fishingmad Жыл бұрын
Some of the scattered campsites had toilets, some didn't. Also some of them were perfectly fine to launch a tiny and some didn't have suitable access. We drove up a week before and spent a few hours going from site to site. They do fill up really quickly on weekends and peak times though.

I've watched a lot of your content and have learnt a truck load being new to the kayak fishing game thanks to your vids... would like to know what motor you use on your kayak as i have a Hobie Mirage Outback and cant find an electric motor for it. any sugestions would be great.
@fishingmad Жыл бұрын
Thanks !! Have a look at this vid it runs through the motor I use kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJLElJ1_qqesm68 there is also some really detailed installation vids in our members area in the kayak club section. Hope that helps, regards Al

I saw another comment haha, yeah plenty of great spots down there

Yep 100% spot on, heaps of spots along the water. We drove past plenty of them as many were full, but still found a great spot to setup camp

What rigs do you recommend using for carp and yellow belly?
@fishingmad Жыл бұрын
We just used a very simple running sinker rig. Very small sinker to a swivel 50cm of leader to a size 6 hook. One of the simplest but very effective

Hey mate. I'm planning a Hobie trip like this for next month. Where around Eildon would you recommend camping like this? We normally do Jerusalem's creek. Do you mind sharing the campsite you used?
@georgedimo534 Жыл бұрын
Great attitude to make sure you leave your site as you found it for the next person to enjoy. I did 2 trips to eppalock in the last week and the amount of rubbish that’s added to the same spot in under a week is disgraceful
@fishingmad Жыл бұрын
10000% agree. I cant believe how many amazing places I go to where I spend time cleaning up after others. Really trying to have shows like this highlight fishing in a positive way, and a gentle reminder for many to keep it as we found it I think is a good thing.

Another Great Video, I’m thinking of getting a Daiwa td black scratchy which is a 7ft 1.5-4kg rod, do you reckon that’d be good for Yellowbelly, trout, Redfin, flatties and bream? Cheers
@fishingmad Жыл бұрын
Thanks !! Yeah those rods are terrific and very versatile. Its hard to have a rod that covers so many different species but that would be a great option.

A mate of mine has heaps in his dam, so we got them from there. A few local tackle stores sell them, but I haven't had to buy them for a while.
