Lake Erie Freshwater Drum (Not a trash fish)

When we were sailing in the Bahamas, all the Bahamians were eating barracuda. We asked them, "Isn't it a trash fish?" They laughed, "That's what we WANT other people to think!" And we discovered why...it's amazing (especially as sashimi 😉) Great video, as always.

Wow! I’ve never been to the bahamas or fished for barracuda! My mom and dad went there and went barracuda fishing though but they didn’t eat it! Glad you liked the video!

First! What do the freshwater drum taste like if you have eaten one? Are they any good for a meal? There aren't alot of freshwater areas here in eastern newfoundland.

I have never eaten a freshwater drum before. My grandma has though and she said they taste good. She also told me the cool thing about them is when you clean them they have little stone like things inside their bodies. I found that quite fascinating!

I don’t remember the size but we tend to use natural coloured tubes. Lake Erie is full of gobies and the fish love them. The gobies in Lake Erie are almost black so we use colours like dark greens and purples.

@@AverieRose Hi there,Evening Ms. Averie Rose. Ok thanks was just curious as lake Erie & St. Clair use tubes for bass & walleye although good for alot of species. Green with red or gold sparkles is about the most common. But 1 year picked up some dark blue with red sparkles buddy laughed & agreed was nice looking but neither of us thought would catch anything. But turned out best color of any (unfortunately haven't been able to find that color anywhere since). Thanks for the response,Tight lines.
