Lake Gregory CA - Trout Fishing Technique for Quick Limit

This season I did not do very well with trout fishing and even in that lake, but seeing the success you had I want to encourage you to try it one last time, that is if they still stock trout in that lake🐟🐟

What rig are you using? Going out thanksgiving weekend havent been fishing in awhile

Carolina rig set up, but instead of a regular weight I use a water bobber as the weight.

Question why do u inflate ur worm on the bobber rig shouldn’t you just throw it as is so it just falls under the bobber or is it so the worm slowly falls as you retrieve the bobber 🤙

Good question. I’ve come to find there are different ways to work a bobber. I’ve tried the method you have described and have caught some nice fish (Trout, Largemouth, Striper, etc.). The method I try is similar to a Carolina Rig where bait floats up off the bottom. I’m usually just trying to catch one fish, this strategy just happened to put a limit that day. I have only fished there one other time this year and I was able to avoid the skunk on it, but just smaller stocker sized ones (c n r) 🤙. Hope you get some nice ones soon👊

I’m a new fisherman in CA when does trout season usually run. Or when do they stock the lakes?

I believe the end of October/early November. I think they stock like every 2-3 weeks. I know that there are many trout still in there, but out in the deeper parts of the lake. Good luck out there on your adventures 🤙👊
