New to Skyrim and I had so much troubles finding a nice cozy home for more than 2 children. Lake haven sold me. Lets just hope the mod works alright in 2023

Love this home! Ultimately I had to uninstall it because of the ultra-narrow stairwells. There are plenty of beds. But, you can't keep followers off the stairs. The yard is prone to bear and dragon attacks as well. The master bedroom here is a top favorite of all the homes I've tried. If the stairs weren't so flipping narrow, I would still have this home installed today. Adventure on sweet Feb

If you installed the world random encounters like I do, you’ll get bandits and other kinds of nasty factions attacking it too. Open the front door and you would suddenly get attacked. For this reason, I only installed houses (those not located in cities) that come with guards.

Wow! This really did cover all the bases - location, view, layout and style. Impressive extras too. My only criticisms, and they're personal ones, is that I'd prefer an option for several NPCs (guard, steward, smithy, farmer/gardener, etc) and another small building that could serve as a storefront and living quarters or similar. I sort of like compounds as opposed to homes. I like seeing activity outside bc it improves immersion in my opinion. But yeah, I'm definitely downloading this and trying it out this weekend.

Whenever you get a garden that you want to fill but there are no soils there are two terrific mods you can use:- Khajiit Rito Kalshan and More Colorful Plant Summons - they're both brilliant for planting colour all over Skyrim.

Funny you mention it, homes such as this are reminiscent of the summer cabin we' d visit off Lake Trinity in Northern California in my youth. Absolutely beautiful landscape tainted only by the excess of getaway cabins people with money felt compelled to spend destroying it... as well as the airstrip along the shore they needed so they could get back to the office on time Monday mornings. That lake made for the best water skiing of my life though for a few seasons. At 14 I ran the pool table on some guy at the local watering hole whose dumbfounded look is still etched in my mind - the impact I could have on others who think themselves superior. I can still see our darn stubborn black lab jump out of the boat 1/4 mile off shore because he wanted to swim back so we just followed him until he got tuckered out. He was exhausted about 150 yards out when we plucked him out of the water but soo happy - he was free that day. Sorry to go on so much, all said I think reasons can be found ^^^ for why I love Skyrim and all the modders such as Cynndal who bring these memories back. It may also illustrate why I try to balance that sense of 'too much' ... Then again maybe it just illustrates how whack in the head I am. Anyhow, love the home - think it's better without the treasury and 6 brat beds though I do like that window. The way the option clickies are managed is ideal. Do we have one for the armory? The chest next to the workbench seems adequate. Love the review, thank you Feb! ... and that's a wrap! - Drops the keyboard (@#$! not again)

Awww what a wonderful story about your lab - my parents had a black lab when I was young and he was the most bonkers adorable dog:) And yes you can disable the Armoury if you want, sorry i didn't specifically say for that one:)

My family owns a collection of "cabins" like this on the shores of a lake in the woods in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I put "cabins" in quotation marks because most of them are regular houses and 1 cabin but the family calls them all "cabins" because they are houses in a forest on a lake. lol Its a nice big lake and is connected to, via other fresh water bodies, Lake Superior, an incredibly massive and deep lake in that part of the country. It even has sunken ships at the bottom of it.

I love that before you had walked past the front area Inigo was in his dressing gown and relaxing. haha This house may be the first EVER that I have considered more beautiful than Elysium Estate. I think it even has a few things that are "gasp" better. I love that in this setting all you have to worry about is that your cow keeps inviting your chickens over for tea, and they might get fat and lazy. haha Thanks so much and now I must run I have a house to download...See you on the rim.

Great house mod if you are a family man/woman and you like to house a whole possee. Me, im just a wondering grouchy assassin and any old hole in the wall will do, which is why i chose Sicario's Refuge for my assassin gurl. This house is nice, but much too big for my tastes. I usually just get 1-2 house mods per character and something that might suit that character's play style. For my mage i chose Caranthir Tower as i think it's THE best mage tower in the modding community. Oh, that reminds me, have you covered Immersive College of Winterhold? It is absolutely divine. It really feels like a school of magic not just a big empty depressing mausoleum (the vanilla one, gah!). There are tons of interactive things that you actually learn from, gorgeous new interiors and even a new greenhouse in the courtyard. It is divine and actually makes you interested in spending time there. Pls do give it a look when you can. It is a must for any mage playthrough :)

Haaa,love it,i have a shield mod,i got it just for the tree of life,it makes bit doesnt replace all the hold shields in a brushed silver,and adds one for each guild and a few more...thanks for this one though,they should call this lake player owned now haaa,its soooo crowded now🤓🤓🤓

Da hat jemand mitgedacht... 🤔 Good idea with this lattice above the little indoor garden. It's not necessary for the game (you know game logic) but just makes more sense in regards of immersion. I was thinking: You mentioned how nice it is to be able to personalize your home. You have showcased some Hearthfire-like homes but like those from the DLC you are actually stuck with one kind of style. The latter is possible on some homes in which you can't have different layouts. - Wouldn't it be nice to be able to have both? Having different layouts and be able to change the style of your home? I would lile to have the appletree crest from Snow White and the Huntsman for example. Or a howling wolfshead maybe?

Ah this home is one of my faves but couldn't have kids there, despite the walls been attacked by skeletons from the ritual site nearby, bears, wolves, bandits and the odd dragon. I wouldn't be happy having my kids playing outside with that lot. But house itself is gorgeous, cozy and warm and the stair problem people have had, is easily fixed with an skse plugin called I'm Walking Here. No conflicts at all, both of my lakeside homes fitted in with that perfectly. And yes, Khajiit Rito Kalshan, More Colourful Plant Summons and Reforesting Skyrim are the mods I use for the ability to plant anywhere I want. They are some of my favourite mods, like, ever!

Apples come from More Growable Plants (and there's a patch for Bruma too so you can bring plants back from there and put them in your garden if you play that mod). The grape seeds and many more plants come from pretty much any of LieanneG's mods - e.g Waterview or Seapoint Settlement - Must have mods imho! :)

No you're right, I just tried to take him in again and he didn't follow. I can summon him and let him off the leash and he makes himself comfortable though.

Odd. Bought the house. But I can't get in; says I need the key. Where is the key? Edited to add: The culprit was the mod "Simpler Knock". I deactivated the mod and I can go right in. Thought you and anyone else reading these comments should know.
