Man, I'm envious! I've photographed in Namibia but not Tanzania. Photo opportunities look wonderful. Video is lovely. Your Astro with the Milky Way above the tree stands out - a great addition to your portfolio. You're using Lee Filters exclusively I see (?). Great work James.
@JamesBrewphoto6 жыл бұрын
Stephen Starkman thanks Stephen! Africa is incredible, ive been lucky enough to see large parts of the continent and it never fails to blow me away. So wild and unspoilt. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on what's your favourite shot other than the astro one? I can't make my mind up at the moment. Yeah I only have Lee Filters currently, I enjoy using them but they are certainly not perfect, the polariser is difficult to use. I haven't checked my emails lately but im sure I saw something from you, I'll respond shortly. Thanks again 👍
@StephenStarkman6 жыл бұрын
Well, I wrote a reply to your comment and KZbin just spun itself into oblivion. It's gone. So... onwards! I think shot 2 was the one other than the astro that I picked. There was another strong one too - sun/water?. Small suggestion: when you post shot info here on KZbin put a timestamp in the description so one can jump right to the still (ie: Shot 1 4:45, Shot 2, 6:20... etc.) Hard to find the stills embedded in the vid after watching through. :)
@JamesBrewphoto6 жыл бұрын
Stephen Starkman brilliant idea! I will do that for sure. There was a sunrise shot at the lake shore, i think that's the one you mean. I really didn't like that image at the time but I've grown to like it. I wouldn't usually include so many shots but I really couldn't make my mind up which I preferred, always a nice problem to have 😊 thanks again Stephen!

from the main road crossing it says 97 kms for the Ol Daimyo Lengai volcano.... but when I was there I couldn`t find any affordable safari group going that way... so I would appreciate your advice about how you did it for when I go back there..... some tour operator? guides? etc. Thanks
@JamesBrewphoto5 жыл бұрын
We used an operator called Gosheni Safaris. I wouldn't classify them as budget but we were on our honeymoon so decided to splash out a little more. We specifically asked to add lake natron onto the usual normal safari route. Good luck with your visit 👍

I liked the last photo in the video with the tree in the foreground. Just wondering why you didn't include any of the beautifully dressed native people in the landscape. I think the beautiful colors of the clothing would have really made a stunning addition.
