LAKE O'HARA: A Tour of the Alpine Circuit | Trail Running Film

The Lake O’Hara Alpine Circuit is “the gift that keeps on giving”... The views are always exceptional on this well-marked trail above the treeline surrounded by an amphitheater of breathtaking mountains.
Lake O’Hara is a special place in the Yoho National Park allowing a unique experience for hikers free from the crowds of nearby parks. Only a handful of people gain spots on the shuttles each day. Lottery for the spots open in April and sell out quickly...
Without the shuttle you can still go up by walking or running up to the lake via the paved 11km service road. From there you can hike the 22km Alpine Circuit.

I enjoyed making this video for you all to experience the beauty of this place - and its definitely one of the most special places I have been to and this film means a lot to me personally to remember my time there. Unfortunately, I didn't quite have the right exposure settings on my GoPro for this adventure, so the video is sometimes too dark or washed out in places and I apologise for that - but on the whole I am very happy with how it all turned out. I agree one of the most beautiful places. I did this hike about 25 years ago but in the opposite direction reaching Wiwaxy gap first but either way it's a great hike. No way I would have jogged though as I would have tripped no telling how many times.

Hey Dylan, thanks for your note again! This is old footage from almost a year ago. I still have some more videos to make from this trip, but sadly there won't be any further from 2022 to look forward to but hopefully I am back out there next year :) Also there is unprecedented late season snow conditions up on the HSCT at the moment, might be a challenge to get to unnecessary even in a few weeks! Be sure to turn back if its outside your comfort level - tough terrain up there even when its snow free.

Is it possible to hike 11 km and then hike around the lake of O'Hara and back 11 km in one day?

yes it is possible. I did the 11km up, then the 20+km alpine circuit then the 11km down in one day. But it depends on your fitness
