Well now is the time. Perhaps you should just dress warm and take a walk out the lake and see what folks are doing. It would be best to walk on the ice where others are walking. Just remember there is no safe ice just good ice. Be careful if you do.

I remember those days when I got excited over ice but now I have open water year round fresh water and salt water within 15 minutes of my house The only disappointment there is no lakes not near me
