1-14-20 My buddy Brad bought a camp on Salt Bayou about a year ago. He wanted to learn Lake Pontchartrain. We offered to help him put some fish in the boat. He’s picking up on it pretty fast from me and David fishing with him. The yo yo style or just dragging it along just doesn’t work in Lake Pontchartrain. 32 specks 2 flounder 1 redfish back at the camp for 12:00 noon. I notice after you cast you lift your rod before setting your real. Is that to let the bait drop straight down and not swing out from the pilings?

Redfish Slaya yes you got it I pull some slack so it will fall straight down or you can do it by hand it’s just the way I do it

You are the man out there for shure getting the job done I’ve been a few times and haven’t done anything on them trout I get inpatient after a couple hours and go find some red fish somewhere I have been watching your technique and I know it changes some keep these videos up keeps me trying I’ll figure it out sometime at least I know there still there

Neal Aucoin sometimes they want it on a single pop and other days a double pop. Yesterday I couldn’t catch but on two different colors I tried 10 different colors without a bite. So you got to keep trying different colors and different techniques. And number 1 watch the tide charts if the tide isn’t moving they aren’t going to bite. I’m no expert on the lake by any means

Joshua Joseph the lake is a tough place to fish until you get it. 20-30 Lb braid with a 12-15 lb leader don’t really need top notch gear to catch fish
