You told us EVERYTHING about this place except the price of admission. For me, that's like someone handing you a ham sandwich with no ham in it. Are you old enough to remember that little old lady in the Wendy's commercial ? >>>> "Where's the Beef ?"

I went to the caves when I was in 4th grade. Around 1983. That bus ride up scared the CRAP out of me. Thought any minute we were gonna go over the edge. Vowed to never go back. Have been to Shasta many times to fish. Never been back to the caverns!

I’ve visited Lake Shasta caverns in 2002, the water was extremely low, drought season. The ferry still got us across, but you had to walk quite a ways through the old lake bed to get to it. Once there are the tour was quite amazing the caverns were beautiful the tour was fantastic.

Just an FYI. The tours are every hour after Labor day. We went at 11 and had a small group. Saw larger groups on our return. The overall tour was great.

It might be... I was so scared, but I am not surprised as I don't like steep roads. Everyone else on the bus seemed fine.

Sorry for the late reply. I just saw this question. We camped at Gregory Creek, but there are so many great camping spots around Lake Shasta. The closest to the caverns would be Bailey Cove Campground.

@@user-px1eb8wx3x They didn't require masks when we visited in June 2020 they just did social distancing. You could call to see if that has changed now that CA has a mask mandate it might be different. They were very helpful when I called with questions :)

We live an hour away but we'll never be able to go, as they don't do anything for special needs people, like have private tours or very small tours. my son has severe social anxiety and social phobia's, and also has tourettes,so being in a situation like this would be complete and utter hell, even though he loves natural wonders, like this
