Hi, I only discovered this song two days ago and your fantastic video yesterday. Being British and never having been to the States I could nonetheless appreciate its accuracy from other videos, clips and film centred around Chicago. I know Oprah Winfrey and the Blues Brothers (not personally, of course) but I don't know who the basketball player is, nor the guy sitting on the chair who gives the monsters an autograph, salute, high five etc. I absolutely love this cartoon short and it is the perfect complement to the song in that It doesn't distract from it, it actually adds another layer of depth. Many thanks to you and your wife for sharing it with us.

I've always liked this song and now this is my new favorite way to listen to it. The first time I ever heard this song was in the mid or late 80's on a radio station in St Louis while I was passing through. Then later on I would hear it on a couple of Chicago stations when I was in or near the city. This is a great video, thanks for posting it.

Btw, I like the Ferris Bueller and Blues Brothers references. Those are two of my favorite movies. I think my favorite part of the video is at the end when are four little "Heroes" if you will, are playing the instruments, and the girl on the drums is awesome. She's just having a ball banging on those things.

So sweet of you to make this for your wife! When my dad was dating my mom, he happened to write a few songs for her and used them as presents to her. He didn't stop when they married. I got a song, my sisters, and he even wrote one for my grandparents. When I get the chance when I'm older, I'm going to keep his legacy by writing my own for my spouse and hopefully my own children as well. It's bound to become a tradition and I'll be the one to keep it going

They're a product of the many interactions and experiences my wife and I have had together. One of my favorite memories is the first time she introduced me to her home city of Chicago. Not long after that, she played the song Lake Shore Drive for me, and I instantly loved it. This video came out of all those things :)

Very well done, Mr. Honer. I love the detail. I found this coming fresh off of Guardians Vol 2, since this song is in the movie. When I heard it shortly after the movie's opening, it was music to my ears. I'm originally from the Chicagoland area, but wound up 3 hours to the west, just over the river in Eastern Iowa, for work. Seeing this animation brought back all kinds of memories of Chicago hot dogs, deep dish pizza, Cubs games, the Bulls run back in the 90s, and generally tugged at me to get back there. Again, pure distilled concentrated awesome.

Great videoclip!! As a Dutch guy I lived in the Chicago area some 30+ years ago. I listened a lot to WAUR and WJMK at the time and they played this gorgeous song regularly. Ted aliotta form the band has gotten so bad on drugs that he let his home he lives in fall apart looks abandoned many say. Even worse he does hard drugs with his underage children it's a shame kind of understand why he was kicked out of the band.
