Great tips Joe! I honestly really liked the idea of the skate shoes on those rocks. The traction is probably perfect. And I just learned YESTERDAY to let the smallies come to me when lake fishing hahaha. Really important to be patient. Definitely not like creek fishing or river fishing when you know where they'll be at. 4 species in one video nice stuff ! Those rockies were blimps.

Jared, if you remember the video where I slipped - it was running shoes. I hadn’t planned on hitting the bank that day and wasn’t prepared for how slick it was. Skate shoes are similar to boat shoes as they give much better traction. I haven’t fished creeks for smallmouth, but I definitely want to try it someday. Lake fishing from shore is a challenge for sure! Thanks for watching!

This is the best time of the year for smallies. largemouth are on beds but when the white bass start to come in the smallies fallow and it's a ton of fun.

Yes it is! The largemouth have been so aggressive, I’ve been catching them more than the rock bass this season, it’s been🔥!

Yessir! Gotta remember that just because it works from a boat, doesn’t mean it’s the best option from shore. Hopefully I break it down well enough.

Great advice. I feel folks can be really intimidated by bank fishing and think they need a boat to find em, but some research and planning along with a splash of the right timing can make for some awesome bank trips. Excellent video Joe and I'm so jealous you get to fish St.Clair on the regular. Bucketlist lake for me.

Nice to change it up from the skiff every so often. Was it the rocks that broke you off? I get the urge to travel every time I see someone hook a small mouth. Im not sure how far north I have to go, but one day. Great video bro! Looking forward to part 2!
@live2fishofficial

Thanks Joe! I’ll never stop hitting those banks. Something about roaming all day brings me back to a simpler time. I wish it was the rocks, but the spool of line that I used on that reel has weak spots. It was a giant spool of the generic Bass Pro 10lb mono I’m green that I got for pennies on the dollar from Cableas back when I worked there. Now I see why it was such a deal. There appears to be a manufacturing defect in the entire thing, as this has happened at various intervals with this line on multiple reels (this is one of two that I haven’t changed out yet). When I cast out last year and sent my whopper plopper into orbit on it, I threw the spool in the trash. Unfortunately I’m playing Russian roulette with the two reels that still have it on there…🤦🏻
@ParabellumFishing
@ParabellumFishing 2 жыл бұрын
@@live2fishofficial Oh wow. nope, I'd change that line out immediately! Nothing sucks more than not having confidence in your gear. Happened to me once with a brand of braid, I wont mention it, but it was cheaper than my usual brand so I gave it a shot, and I paid the price. 40 pound braid breaking like 4 pound flouro. I had it on for one trip, stripped it off the second I got home so I wouldn't be tempted to wait for a sale or something.

@@ParabellumFishing the saving grace is that since it just broke off, I’m good for another 100yds before another breakdown, and there isn’t that much spooled left on it lol!
