Wow. I started playing in bands in 1965. I started out playing drums, and played bass and guitar all my life since intermediate/advanced in skills and knowledge. I don't remember ever being this entertained and thrilled about a band. This is some serious bad ass stuff and reminds me a lot of the Motown energy, just very hip/minimalist which I think is ultra cool/real. Hit me right in the gut. I hope these kids rise to prominence. My intro to the band was part of a concert promoting the 2013 Coen Bros film Inside Llewyn Davis. The concert was on Showtime, called Another Day, Another Time. LDS came out and set up around 1 condenser mic and rocked the house with "You Go Down Smooth". Just blew me away.

@@kayteekattt As far as I know the full concert isn't available to watch anywhere...unless Showtime has their own streaming service. But you can find clips of it on youtube. Coen Bros did a similar thing when they released O Brother Where Art Thou. They held a release party/promotional concert at the Ryman. There's a dvd of it called Down From The Mountain. This is almost like a sequel to that concert, musically. Both films/concerts music director was T. Bone Burnett. The Another Day Another Time concert was held at Town Hall in NYC, I assume because the film was set in Greenwich Village.

I love LSD ( Lake Street Dive) but whoever was on the soundboard needs to be fired immediately...seriously. The levels on the drums are wayyyyyy too much and not nearly enough vocals for about the first minute or so ( if not, Rachel, intonation is very much needed ). Please re-engineer this track...please.... (I've been a fan of LSD for about 7 years and I love to play their music loud as shit when I have to top off my Jeep!) But seriously the sound engineering on this track is awful! Edit: After a couple days I regret the harsh language that I had used but in context I think my constructive criticism still stands....

I love LSD and Bridget Kearney is an incredible talent. However. I am frustrated with the upright bass in the kind of music LSD often plays. This music is considerably energetic and verges on the edge of a rock/danceable r&b mix. I think these songs call for a punchier, stronger bass ex. something electric. The upright bass gets lost a lot of the time in the mix. It has a softer tone that I don't think matches the other instruments well.
