Happy New Year, Amani! Thank you for bringing us along in 2023 and hope to see your adventures continue in 2024. Planning a Mammoth trip this summer glamping a few miles from the village and hope to find the flat river side cabin of a famous person from the ...'30s or so? If you remember the location, let me know. Beautiful quakies, green, lush area.
@wildernesswithamani10279 ай бұрын
Right on. Happy New Year. I am not sure about the location of what you speak of is. Between all of the content on my every day you are there for all of your trips over the next decade or so! I can't wait to get back up into the Backcountry in that area to fish.

Happy New Year! Nice way to start 2024 with a fresh trout dinner. You are so correct about ice on the rocks because you can't really see it and if you hop around without thinking you can get messed up really bad. I was in bed at 9 on New Year's Eve....just to pooped to party anymore.😂
@wildernesswithamani10279 ай бұрын
Happy New Year. Yeah, I like to scope out and test everything I might step on during the heat of the battle. If there is one thing about ice on rocks that is always true it's that it is extremely unforgiving if you step on it. You are going down!

I ate that whole fish and it was quite a bit. I could have stretched into two meals but I figured I'd start the new year with a full stomach!

I jealous I would loved to had a fresh trout dinner! Nice I forgot the stuff sack is an excellent pillow once the layers are in it!

Oh, it's a wonderful pillow when it's full. I stuffed myself with that whole trout. It was either one huge meal or two meals that were barely adequate. I went with huge!

Happy New Year. Everytime i go fishing that spot i get skunked. Did you have your bait by the rocks or all the way to the sand?
@wildernesswithamani10279 ай бұрын
I move mu stuff in and out. Ideally I try to fish where the boulders and sand intermesh but there's a lot of guessing there so I reposition my stuff about every 45 minutes.

Happy New Years. That is Logan Shoals Vista point near Cave Rock State Park. Google Maps will take you right there. At least, it will get you to where you park. Unfortunately your legs have to handle the steep hike up.

Easy in and out. Not my favorite spot in the Spring when the big rainbows are cruising the boulders for crawdads and minnows but easy when it's freezing on New Years Day. I was the first car there but the parking area was almost full when I left. Funny how few people are actually willing to hike down to the water.

Hey Amani, Happy New Years!! Hey, I see you not only love catching trout, but also eating them! I cannot tell you how many times I have caught trout and given them to others because I have never been a huge fan of eating trout. Salmon, tuna, sushi etc, all good! But TROUT NOT SO MUCH... Anyways, I would love to find a recipe or 2 that I actually realy like! Have one??
@wildernesswithamani10279 ай бұрын
Happy New Year. I am not the dude to go to for recipes. I have three cooking clips on my variety playlist where I fry, bake, and grill trout. I mostly go with the frying because I like to cook the skin on rainbows until it's good and crispy.
@divineavengers9 ай бұрын
are all these smaller trout stockers?
@wildernesswithamani10279 ай бұрын
I don't think so. The Wild trout fishery in Tahoe is very strong. They protect all of the spawning in the tributaries well. I'm pretty sure Nevada FWL stocks Lahontans but I don't believe they do much more than that. I could be wrong.

Happy New Year to you as well. Hope the new j o b works out for your needs. Ok, MY needs for more fishing videos from you. Really wish you would take advantage of the well known tricks of the trade needed to get your videos more views (into more algorithms). More YT click cash may mean less work and more actual living (read: fishing). ✌🏼

What bait worked??
@wildernesswithamani10279 ай бұрын
