Wow .... where do I start. I have been fishing for peacock bass for the last 20 years .... and have exclusively fished with Ron Speed Jr the last 10 years (Brazil and Mexico). I have spent all afternoon watching your Brazil trip videos where you fished the waters (Uatuma and Jatapu Rivers) with the guides and staff that I love so much. I truly think you captured peacock bass fishing .... the physical chopping, the amazing blow ups - no fish hooked, the long hours of NOTHING, the heat, the honey holes where you get amazing numbers on a jig and that rare occasional amazing large peacock bass. The only thing you missed is when the heavens open up and pour a river of water on you. I wish you had caught a 20+ pounder because that IS a bucket list item .... and everything has to go right to land them. I loved seeing the the Otter and the people that are there to make our trips so special. I especially liked seeing Amaral who was my guide when I caught my largest peacock ever ... a 25# beauty .... and Gator who is my all time favorite guide EVER. To find out you were facing a surgery for a brain tumor and watch you and your lovely wife go through that was even more special. I cannot thank you enough for sharing these moments of your life !!!!!!

Justin I was touched by your gesture to those guides. You are an amazing and awesome person. I wasn't surprised by your lack of headaches since you live a more stressful life in TX. I know it takes a lot to be a KZbinr and many people don't know that unless you are one. BUT I loved this adventure and what you brought to us fishing freaks. Thank you for that. I'm so happy you get the opportunity to experience this with Winston who is amazing person as well. How you guys gave away a lot of stuff to those people is very humbling and I'm sure they appreciate it. Hope after the surgery you get to do more outside of the country fishing. We'll all be praying for you on your surgery date coming up. I will always be a fan till the end.

Giving those guys your things was such a wonderful thing to do.. But toward the end when you said you couldn't wait to get back to see OSG and Winston, it broke my heart.. It brought back memories when after i lost my teenage son, every now and then i would wake up in the morning and for a split second wonder why he wasn't up yet, or sometime i call out to him, and then it would hit me that he's no longer here.. Loved all of the videos. Thanks to Favorite for getting you down there. I do some small mouth fishing up here in the northwest but just use my walleye rods. If the local Cabelas outpost starts stocking Favorite rods I will set myself up a bass only rig. Might even take a run at a few largemouth.
