Hi LFG and OSG, Fly rods for bass run from 7wt or 7 weight to 10wt and from 7 foot11 inch to 10 foot. If I were starting out fly fishing for bass all over again I'd go with a 8wt 9 foot or the Heat rod from Bass Pro ($99) with a Rio brand line in there OutBound Short weight foreword floating. As for the reel, the new Redington Behemoth 7-8 because it's fair pierced and good quality. To many people forget to an 150 yards of backing before the line and this makes casting very hard as the line will coil excessively. It serves 2 functions. Flies for bass very just like other lures, you might want to get yourself a few poppers in size 4, some worm type flies for bass and jigging flies like Clouser minnows in size 4 to 1. Have someone in the store (like Bass Pro) set up the out fit for you with loop to loop connections for the the flyline to the leader, leaders for bass can be straight 15lb test Mono for floating flies and Flo for sinking flies. Some other tips to consider, long casts are not as good as accurate casts, if you can cast 40 feet and hit within a 4 foot ring that is all you will need. Most casts that produce fish are under this. Remember the difference between fly fishing and conventional tackle is your casting the line to deliver the lure instead of casting the lure to pull the line. Good Luck! Aric Heath One more thing, The luckiest fisherman comes home to his greatest catch ever.

Thank you for that. I'll put together some flies I tie just for LM bass and send them to you and Lunkers, this will take some time as I would tie them just for you guys. Some are secrets I don't give out to many, but you can use them as you like in your show. Wish I could spend a week with you guys just to join you in the sport of bass fishing the hard way(on the fly). Give me a month or two and I'll see what I con put together. Again Good Luck Aric Heath

If you want to still be able to use the rod in small creeks or rivers I would get a 5 or 6 weight fly rod. They are by far the most versatile

Lettuce, carrots is a good start. If their eyes are open, they are old enough to be on their own. You are right, the mother digs a hole big enough for the babies and has them underground. Packs it with fur and grass. I bass fish with a 9' 8 weight. Crawfish patterns work well for bottom bouncing, Mouse patterns and gurglers for surface fish, and I normally carry a good amount of baitfish streamers, my favorite is the SBS Smallmouth streamer chartreuse and white. If you need more info just ask!

Bass fishing can be achieved with a 5wt-9wt. The 'typical' outfit I would say is a 8'6" 6wt with a bass taper (weight forward) floating line and a 2x leader. Take a look at the Fenwick Aetos, TFO NXT, or Orvis clearwater pared with a good 7/8wt reel. The Liquid series by Lamson is an excellent reel or stick with the Orvis and complete clearwater package. Piscifun also makes an excellent entry priced reel in the Sword series. Some size 4 buggers and poppers will get you started for bass. Welcome to the addiction that is bass fishing. Will also catch a variety of sunfish and other creek fish.

I would recommend getting a 7 or 8 weight fly rod. length depends on how big of a case you have to make. 10 foot will give you better control but it will be impossible to cast on a small steam. definitely have floating and sinking lines as well. I recommend readington or Cabela's three forks for a beginning rod and I just bought a lapse liquid and am really liking it and it's not too expensive.
@ReVelVenom7 жыл бұрын
The baby rabbits are old enough too feed on their own you can tell because they are full of fur and the mother will rip her hair out and make a little bed for them to stay in. if the can hop and you want them as a pet I would get a 4-5 foot cage with some hay and rabbit food from your local pest store. I know this because me and my family raise and sell rabbits and we recently bred our rabbits and we have baby's with full fur and hopping around. Hope I helped.

Another interesting vid Guys. Keep up the good work and funny banter. I believe your little bunnies and either Desert Cottontails (Sylvilagus auduboni) or are Brush Rabbits (Sylvilagus bachmani).These would be your most common Rabbits for Eastern Texas, chaparral country. Also believe Texas F&G would not want you to capture them....but you can shoot them...go figure!

Best to stay out of the water when they open the gates on Lake Whitney. My buddy was almost washed away (kayakers helped him get to shore, and grabbed his equipement). Sometimes it's mellow, sometimes it's not so mellow.

LFG I would use a 5 weight medium fast action fly rod. Reel doesn't really matter but use a 5 weight-forward line. I use poppers or Woolley Buggers or something that will pop on the surface. Good luck fly fishing!
