Great Idea, Love it. If you can bring the hose in afterwards (garage). Then I'd suggest using hot water for a better sheet of ice that will be stronger against the sun. Full size ice resurfacers throw down water at 160 degrees but that's not coming from a home. Your ice will be crystal with less oxygen in it.

Ok just tried this on my pond. First I had to shovel off the snow. I found it really important to get ever last bit off or else it creates sludge that will freeze again. What I didn't expect was that the hose was REALLY heavy along w the wet towel n broom.I'm exhausted now. That for the idea. Don't know how well it will work.

Yes, you definitely have to clear all of the snow before cleaning the ice. You’re right, it is not an easy task but the outcome has worked well for me and hopefully you too!
