I just watched the trailer for this movie and it seems to accurately represent the reality of how black people lived during that time. The trailer is a beautiful sample so I can imagine what the film is like and I'm excited seeing more representation of our existence. I can tell this movie is going to be enjoyable to watch.

Each time he said, 'knowledge is stronger than belief', I thought of the scrpture, 'My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge because thou has rejected knowledge.......' Hosea 4:6. After I saw the movie, I didn't know exactly how I felt about it but I enjoyed it and will buy the DVD to watch it again.

You are still making claims that we are not divine beings just by your answer here. Do you really think that man was made to be a slave and a sacrifice to the Gods and the Church? This is nothing new, let us make man in our image and likeness.. but throughout history clearly depicted on the walls like the Mayans are human sacrifices and it still goes on today. I have not yet seen this movie but greatly look forward to it. Challenging perspectives based on a carefully crafted narrative might be combustible, but it is necessary. This movie was not good. It was too long, its message is confusing, the cinematography is boring, and the movie is too goofy to be taken seriously. People did not speak with any of those accents during the time. Not only were the accents out of place but everyone had a different accent. People who live in the same place usually speak the same dialect and have a very similar accent. Different accents lead to confusion. Are there no actors who are willing to learn a language to authentically portray a time? Or writers who can translate their words into the actual language of the time? The cast was not populated with a diverse cast like it is being promoted as. All they did was make everyone dark skinned instead of how Hollywood usually makes everyone white skinned. Jerusalem sits in the middle of Asia and Africa and there were zero people in them main cast who looked mixed. Jesus is portrayed as a young, light skinned boy with loose, curly hair but when he grows up he’s dark skinned with nappy dreads? Makes no sense at all. Along with the proximity to the Mediterranean sea and Jerusalems accessibility through trade routes, the people were for sure mixing, even then. My wife’s family is from Nazareth, just like Jesus, and very few people in the film looks like anyone that would have actually been there. Blackwashing history is not better than the usual Whitewashing of history! This movie is just more Hollywood trash. If the filmmakers wanted to show how Africans lived inside of the biblical narrative with people of other ethnicities then they should make a serious film, not this goofy stuff. All those great actors were wasted on this mess. Anyone telling you knowledge is stronger than belief is trying to manipulate you. This movie was trash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the worst things I have ver seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!
