I can def vouch for the 99 block on a 6’9 isn’t worth it. My 7’0 with 87 block does better

I made like 7-8 big men. And they all the same… low key done playing 2k on old gen. All my friends moved to series s/x. I hate playing rec and getting iced all damn game, even when I’m killing it on D. I said fuck it and made a skinny post scorer defensive anchor as my final 2k build

Thank you for vouching for builds that lack in a category to fit your play style. Tired of people making 6’9s that do everything when they themselves dont know how to do everything. I think people could excel if they played to their strengths more often in the builder.

Only thing I always tell people is if your coming into the rec solo bring a build that can shoot to often do you end up with 3 guys who can't shoot the ball and thata an auto l since there will be no spacing on offense

As free to play player I think it's really smart to make a build that's not great but good at everything. It gives you the opertunity to do a little bit of everything without having to spend hundreds of hours on a new build. It also let's you complete pretty much any quest you get since your guy is proficient.

One thing I learnt yesterday when I made a 6’1 guard is I’m able to get more defensive badges being a little heavier

At 6 '3 you can get 20 plus badges In every category

I always make a derrick rose build with great finishing alright shooting and good athletics. The problem with this game is if I make a smaller gaurd slother poster and Limitless become tier three badges which really doesn't make sense. I get it from a gameplay perspective since in 22 small gaurds were op but now that 6'8 and 6'9 gaurds get slither poster and Limitless a lot easier they are so much better to play on

There’s a lot to learn with making builds on a consistent bases I had made a 6’9 day one and didn’t keep him 😅 passing is such a core part of my game and and not having the ability to get interceptor at a higher teir then bronze

Made a point forward build with 99 block and 99 dunk. Vince Carter build with hall of fame slithery, fearless, poster, limitless, and acrobat, so fun. MJ build with 90 mid range sneaky fades. Iverson build with 99 layup and 99 close shot, 94 ball handle. Real fun and layup timing window is big. Penny build with 90 pass accuracy, silver finishing badges and 85 mid range, but 75 3pt which I learned is good enough for spot up shooting. 6 1 SG build from your video, 99 steal, love it. 2way inside out scorer 7 ft center build with gold anchor, 85 3pt. Only center build I have or need. 69 build with 94 standing dunk and silver level main defense badges. Feels great to use and actual dunk in the paint instead of layups. Melo build with 86 o-board, performs better than I thought but don't use often. 6 1 all around threat build might be my best build. Monster.

You touch an issue that I've experienced myself. This 2k I have made the least amount of builds I ever have in a 2k. 1 reason for that is the VC prices, but another is that I just cant bring myself to grind out all the core badges once again. I like the concept of core badges, and I actually enjoyed grinding them out on my first build. But on the 3rd, it really becomes a boring grind. Im not sure how they could solve it. Maybe on rebirth builds you can core badges you unlocked/cored before? I dont know, its a tough one.

I think that to help you should be able to unlock a second rebirth at 99 overall and you can just make your new builds maxed out, 2k wouldn’t lose any money from that and it would make the players happier

I feel like the best builds now a days have like 80 steal and 78 ish perim D like the sg you showed around a week ago. It’s unfortunate because I wanted to make a pure lock wing because I really like playing good defense, but it just seems like the steal patch killed those elite defenders. I hate that 2k always changes the meta for whatever reason throughout the year. if you’re going to give people the ability to steal from ball handlers that are being reckless/not running hof unpluckable, why change that. 2k is just weird with how they manage their games sometimes.

I make well over ten builds every 2k and sometimes I remake a build because I know I had the right idea but just didn't know something at the time or as we all know 2k nerfs something super heavily and now it changes the entire way the game runs. I don't see the problem with adjusting if u want to succeed in a game where we know they gonna switch up on us and the game itself includes alot of variables it's virtually impossible to have one build do everything u want it to do on the court without trial and error. Now if u getting spanked on the game 24 7 with multiple builds I'd be concerned 🤣. Og builds are typically stuff we think are cool or know worked the year prior. It doesn't take very long for most of us to realize what changes need to be made to continue having fun and be effective in multiple situations

2k22 i had about 6 builds. A Center, a SF/PF hybrid, a few different PG iterations. My first build was a 3&D wing type. But this yr i have 2 builds and basically 1 cause my first build was a 6'7 luka type build but it only had silver rebound chaser and i wanted to impact all areas of the game at a high level and so i made a 6'9 221 Ib PG and average about 15/6/10 on it and have multiple games where i get trip dubs or close to. Im not the best on ball scorer but i can definitely get to a bucket at a decent rate especially if i have a smaller defender on me. But i run with ppl who handle that. My only issue is that gold unpluckable doesnt seem to be a badge this yr lmao it's the worst badge for how much it costs. And with everyone being 6'7+ and stuff steals this yr even after the so called "patch" are horrendous. HOF glove is a ridiculous badge lmao plus all the bs 2k changes every 2 seconds i cant donate money to the game like before. Im cool with my lebron build. Hopefully 2k24 i can make at least 3 builds that all vary from one another in some major way cause now on a 6'9 i can shoot, finish, play D and rebound AND pass at a high level i basically made an all around build so theres no real point in making a new build

My 6-1 PG was really easy to max out defensive badges. I cored HoF Glove in like a few weeks. It takes me much longer to grind out tier 3 finishing badges. BTW, I have 9 builds myself. 🤦‍♂️

Yo! I use my own variation of your little big man build regularly, and it is amazing in 1v1. I’ve even had some fun running with my friends in Rec, meter dunking on anyone and everyone. It’s fine as long as your center can shoot

All my builds this year have an 89 3pt. Does anyone know if I can still shoot fades consistently with an 83 3pt and silver agent 3s?

Depends on how skilled you are? Definitely possible. I feel like most people need gold a3 to be consistent on fades, spins, hopes, etc. I'm nowhere near as consistent on silver but im not an elite shooter...

You will not be able to fade consistently with an 83 three ball…you won’t get HOF green machine and you won’t get access to bases and releases that make it easier to fade. Yes, your jumpshot plays a role in fade timing.

Easiest Gatorade Drills: Treadmill, Battle Ropes, Dumbbell Fly, Box Jump, your choice between agility ladder and the other one, forgot its name.

Shooting takes too much away from defense and you'll likely get just a couple feeds a game. The guards are trigger happy this year. If your team doesn't have a high IQ center, atleast 7' with max weight and def your team will get dunked on the entire game. You can guard the perimeter but contact dunks are op and practically unstoppable.
