Lakers Austin Reaves has had a recent re-emergence for Lakers Nation. If Reaves can maintain the consistency of late and Lakers News of him being the clear 3rd guy could make the Lakers Trade Targets much more narrow.

In the modern NBA your position is the position you guard. Christie guards the other team's point guard. So AR is already the 2 for all intents and purposes. Bruce Brown does NOT fix this.

@ lavine or dejonte? because i think a reason why nobody wants lavine outside of his contract is because pretty much every other team has more athleticism than the lakers but still it's risky with a 44 mil it's better we get a backup brusing big in kessler or vooch and then get another perim guy like bruce brown

I resubscribed to your channel cause now we are in the same page. AR is playing out of his mind, and he has never had a stretch like these last 4/5 games. As I told everyone, he still has not peaked, and is likely starting peak right now. He said it himself, that he is still doing “some dumb things”. Dude is not fully happy during this stretch and still knows and wants to get better. Imagine that. We have to be careful that the lakers don’t stifle his flame how they did to knecht. Crazy he was able to drop 35 on the team with the best record in the NBA and with LeBron and AD on the court. Happy holidays.

Worthy said it best, “LA looks like a team in grooming… Cleveland looked like a team that’s fully groomed.” With that being said, Robert Horry said, “that was a good loss. We lost to a team that showed why they’re undefeated in Western conference.” We put up a good fight but if we hit our shots better, we would have won. Give JJ time to implement his philosophy. It usually takes a coach a year or two to really get their ideas/philosophy going at the same time I know it’s win now so give him a few more weeks to focus on shooting while playing good D and DFS is beefier/slower Vando who can shoot. His presence really made a diff and I bet Rob is licking his chops to see how healthy Vando and DFS looks together. I hope we keep Rui because he looked good C with DFS when they played small ball with Lebron against Cleveland. Only trade Rui if we get something really good in return.

The ideal center isn't really out there for trade. Someone like a kessler or a Turner would be perfect but that's very unlikely at this point. Lakers likely looking at a Valanciunas or Dayron sharpe type

I hear you, but the timing is kind of weird for this point. He's currently balling as the starting point guard. With a bunch of assists during this stretch. It may not be sustainable, but it's working currently. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Yh Austin Reaves needs ball handling help, we’ve seen Reaves lose his 3 ball and become a bit of a shell when he’s tired, I’m not sure if he can handle this amount of creation workload, he was working hard for all his points. Which also leads me to question if we trade rui for brown we’re still missing some offence. Rui at his best helped with how little touches he needed and was a 3 level scorer in playoffs

Trading rui one of the few wing/PF players on the team for another guard defeats the purpose of the DFS trade in the first place. Not to mention based I what I’ve seen the things y’all want from Bruce brown is literally being provided by gabe Vincent and can be provided by shake as well. They don’t need no more guards unless your getting a all star caliber one which isn’t happening. I’d say just focus on getting some bigs and get their defense up

This trade proposal demonstrates the typical delusion possessed by a large portion of the Laker fan base. The complete lack of understanding of the needs of the Pelicans and Jazz and where those teams are at right now is astounding. Some Laker fans are like two-year-olds that haven't learned yet that if you pinch your friends, it will hurt them, and they won't be your friends (make trades) with you anymore. This trade proposal does nothing for the Jazz. The Jazz aren't selling low on Kessler. The Jazz think they are going to possibly have Cooper Flagg next year. They want to team Flagg with Markannen, Kessler and Sexton going forward. Pelican's actually have a larger need for Kessler than the Lakers do. If the Pelicans are involved in a trade that involves Walker Kessler, I would be surprised if Kessler isn't going to New Orleans. If you are the Lakers, you might not want to involve the Pelicans in these talks with the Jazz for Kessler because Utah and New Orleans might just pull the rug out from under you and make it a two-team trade.

Reaves failed to score 10+ points only in 2 games out of 30+. I wouldn't call him inconsistent, he's actually very reliable due to his 3-level scoring ability. AD is much more unpredictable. And $13M/season on a long-term contract is a really modest salary for such a level of production.
@o82774
@o82774 7 күн бұрын
You are literally trying to make an argument that Austin Reeves is better than AD. Reeves is a role player not a star. AD has proven if you surround him with the right talent he can get you a ring. Reese has proven he is the wrong talent by us getting swept out the playoffs every year with him. Stop it.
@vasjaforutube1
@vasjaforutube1 6 күн бұрын
@o82774 nope, my claim is that Reaves gives you moderately high return with low variance (and all this variance is upside, no drawdown), while AD gives you very high return with high variance. Google "modern portfolio theory" and "post-modern portfolio theory", you'll understand what I mean. When you allocate your capital into several instruments, Reaves is a very efficient part of composition, you need someone like him alongside AD for your team/portfolio success.

I wouldn't hold my breath for Sexton if I were you. Utah might sell Clarkson. The Jazz think they have a decent shot at Cooper Flagg in the draft and going forward they'll want to team him with Sexton, Markannen, and Kessler. The Jazz also have all those picks they got for Mitchell and Gobert. First round picks from the Lakers that are 4 and 6 years away probably don't move the needle for the Jazz in a Sexton or Kessler trade. Danny Ainge is under pressure to start improving the team. After the draft in June, Ainge will likely be entering player acquisition mode and use some of those future draft picks he's acquired as trade bait to add a player or two to his young core. This summer there will be several teams trying to shed salary to stay away from aprons who Ainge can find trade partners with. Remember that Utah can't attract big name free agents. They have to build slow through the draft or built fast through trades where they are the buyers. Stop thinking of the Jazz as sellers. They are about to turn the corner and head the other way. Unless you want Jordan Clarkson. You could probably get him for JHS and Hayes and a pick.

Reeves is fool's gold. He gives up more on defense than what he gives you on offense. He has absolutely no gravity and is essentially a stat padder. Teams will happily let him score since they know he can't stop them and they can focus all their attention on the real threats on the Lakers. But the Lakers front office and Lakerstans actually celebrate when the Lakers lose if Austin Reeves has a good night! This is pathetic. Reevee could not start on ANY team in the NBA but is starting on the historically greatest NBA team of all time? The back courts on every contending team is salivating to play Austin Reeves in the playoffs. Can we please stop sacrificing the team so we can delude ourselves with a Great White Hope? Let's trade this bum while he has a perceived high value and get a real point guard with athleticism, explosiveness, handle, consistent shooting, and the ability to play defense. I think people attack you on Reaves cuz you clearly have no clue what your talking about haha Reaves is running the PG now and his usage is higher that’s why his stats have increased .. Reaves is a combo Gaurd. He is neither a 1 or 2 and that’s where his value is he can play both . Lakers don’t need a point of attack defender that’s why max is there and they’re developing him to be . For the last 2-3 years Reaves has been one of the lakers most efficient players statistically . You just don’t know what you’re talking about from a basketball perspective.

Reaves is a stat padder. He as a point guard is taking more shots than lebron & ad & the lakers still lose. He could score 50 a night, the lakers are going nowhere with him as the point or the leading scorer. Lebron was clowning him during AD's postgame interview when reporters asked about the ball being in austin's hands more & AD had to hold back the laugh to keep it professional. Lebron & AD know they aint winning a CHAMPIONSHIP with reaves as their point guard.

If the playoffs come and Reeves is the starting point guard of the Lakers the Lakers are going to get swept again or get bounced in the second round at best. But if Reeves averages 21 points with us getting swept you stans will be happy right? Pathetic.

austin is the 3rd guy why you want a 3rd guy the nba is already change 3 allstar is not useful anymore see what happen to suns have a big three but trash you dont need to trade for a max player cause you have already 2 max player in the roster gm should maximize thr salary cap i dont know why you keep want a 3rd star in the lakers you just need a consistent 3rd scorer not a star

AR is better at making reads and plays but doesn't handle the ball pressure well. Bringing in someone like Brown allows for that Initiator and than Reaves can be on ball from there.

Here we go again, acting like Austin Reaves MJ. Whatever he scores, he gives that up or more on the defensive end. Stop listening to the Reaves fans that want him to be more than what he is. What you were saying was spot on about Zach LaVine. These same fans were riding Alex Caruso Joc strap, who is a good player but not like what they tried to make him in LA! Just stop people because he's not Tyler Hero!!

Christie has been great but he's 21 years old and your trying to win a chip. I'm as high on christie as you can be but he needs to be the backup 2. As for Brown, he's better at handling ball pressure and initiating the offense. Having brown doesn't take away from Reaves being on ball as the 2. Brown intiates, then plays off ball and provides that 3&d

Actually what would be a near perfect trade before the deadline that can help elevate this Lakers team is a trade w/ Utahs Collin Sexton & Walker Kessler for Rui JHS & Wood + 2031 1st, 2026 pick swap & removal of protections of the 2027 1st. A more balanced rotations will look like this after the trade: AR / Sexton / Milton Gabe / Max / Bronny DFS / Knecht / Reddish Lebron / Vando (if healthy) AD / Kessler / Hayes That starting lineup have playoff atmosphere experience while the bench is more balance of offense & defense. Regardless of Vando coming back, Kessler can play w/ AD in non Lebron minutes. And after the trade, the Lakers will have 1 open roster spot while being 5million+ under the second apron to sign a vetmin or buyout guy to round up the roster.

Where is the scoring coming from? Balancing what? 😂 At least Rui will give you at least 12~15 PTs per game inside or outside on probably fewer shots than Max and Cam combined!
@bagskie
@bagskie 7 күн бұрын
@DaxPlayer828 AD Sexton can be a 12-15pts off the bench. Kessler can provide inside scoring... Starting 5 can survive w/o Rui's production on offense. It wont be long that DFS will take his place in the starting 5 if he sticks around after the trade deadline.
