Just from watching Laker games it was quite apparent that Ham didn't know how to make in game adjustments and seemingly was unable to call time outs when they needed them. Not saying he was the only reason, but he was a big part of it. Sooo many big leads blown and close losses that could have been saved by just stopping the bleeding with a time out. He was just not experienced enough.

The front office has also backed Ham to the dismay of some of the players and LakersNation when they were already calling to replace him last season and midway through this season. Darvin isn't a bad guy and it's not personal against him but it was evident he wasn't ready from an X's and O's standpoint, rotation merry-go-round, timeout/challenge management, etc. He was praised as a relatable motivator but unfortunately he still ended up losing the leaders of the locker-room.

Help me understand why so many sports commentators believe that Ty Lue is a great coach. What has he done since the Lebron championship? He has as many NBA championships as Doc and Vogel. Last year Ham got much further than he did, and this year he's likely to get as far as Ham. So, help me understand why he's a better coach that Doc, or Frank Vogel, or even Ham?
@sakthithanigai50367 ай бұрын
Uh he’s constantly put the clippers in positions to succeed with his 2 best players always missing games. Like how many coaches win 45-50 games every year despite not knowing if PG13 or Kawhi were gonna play on a game to game basis?
@Maxrepfitgm7 ай бұрын
Coaching is more roster and luck based than anything. Phil Jackson was the GOAT Coach when he had MJ Kobe and Shaq, but when didn't he wasn't the legendary coach anymore. Ty Lue can't win with losers like Harden and PG and the broken down Kawhi. You can't win an F1 race in a ford focus no matter who is driving it.
@PureMajic7 ай бұрын
@@Maxrepfitgm I can't agree more. But my question remains. If it's about roster and luck, and if other coaches with less talented teams keep making it further than Ty Lue's teams, why do thy sports commentators keep heaping praise on him like he's an extraordinary coach?
@KClouisville7 ай бұрын

It’s funny how Nick always tries to put Lebron and his team(s) in the same sentence as Pat Mahomes and his team. Pat Mahomes greatness in the nfl at this stage of his career has already surpassed Lebron greatness when he was at that age…smh
@bamboosho0t7 ай бұрын
NFL isn't comparable to the NBA because Mahomes plays offense only. NBA you have to play both. Plus, Mahomes has a stable head coach. LeBron lobbied for Ty Lue after Luke Walton got fired and the Lakers front office said, "Nope." Now, in hindsight, it would've been the smart hire because the Clippers will never let him go to the Lakers.

@penkima4923 I don't know exactly what you mean by that, but I will say because the lakers have lebron James, there is a sense that any season without a championship is a failure. That notion does play into the coaching, and player changes whether lebron is actually making those decisions or not. On the court lebron is good, no complaints. I wish I could say the lakers just weren't good enough to beat the defending champion Nuggets but the series showed lakers just struggled in the 3rd quarter and closing. 🤷♂️
