Lakers Must Play 2 Bigs Against Nuggets

Lakers playing the Denver Nuggets will be an exciting first round of the NBA Playoffs. Lakers Need to try and slow down Nikola Jokic and run 2 bigs in Anthony Davis and Jaxson Hayes for several minutes a game. Lakers Nation needs to win this series and 2 bigs could help do that.

We all know Nuggets are very tough to beat. Some things to try as you mentioned - limit Jokic assists or (the others) - slow down Jamal (if possible) - AD has to match Jokic scoring/reb output A lot has to go right to beat the defending champs but let’s go LakeShow!! 💛💜

Jax can really help the lakers wear out the joker!!! Gabe Vincent should replace Austin Reeves in the starting line up, and let reeves come off the bemch.... Reeves and D'lo's back cort wouldn't be effective enough to stop anybody...

Hayes actually can bother jokic. He has the second best defensive rating of all the healthy players on the team behind AD. But more importantly he should be getting 20 minutes a game simply because he adds size. And because he's doing that well defensively

Starting 5 should be: Jaxson Hayes, AD, LeBron, Gabe Vincent and DLo. You put Hayes on Jokic 🤞, AD on Michael Porter Jr, LeBron on Aaron Gordon, Vincent on Murray and DLo on KCP. Bring Rui, AR, Dinwiddie, Prince and Reddish off the bench. We can go 10 deep to keep the players fresh. I say this because we have to makes changes in order to have a different outcome. Otherwise it’s just insanity.

I like Jaxon Hayes...and I believe they should have developed him throughout the season...but...he is way too light in the trunks from preventing Jokic from backing him right up to the rim.

This is my advice Play 2 bigs. Line up... Dlo,Bron,Rui,Hayes and AD Let Hayes guard Jokic and AD helps in the paint protection most especially on cuts and lobs from Jokic. I don't mind joker having to score 50 on Hayes so we would have to live with his jumper if he makes them over Hayes' wingspan then so be it. If Jamal is going off we gotta put Vincent,Spencer or max on him. Max is a really solid 3 and D . Another starting lineup suggestion is Dlo,Max/ Vincent,Bron ,Hayes and AD. And we gotta go at Joker on offence to tire and hunt for fouls on him.Rui and reeves can come off the bench for firepower. And no double teams on Jokic

No. The only answer is AD should not get outplayed by Joker and I expect AD to play at least 38-40 minutes a game in the series. It might be unsustainable logging that much minutes, but it is necessary. Might I add, DLo needs to match or outperform Jamal, for the Lakers to have a chance. LeBron will get his. So key players I think is AD and DLo playing lights out, the rest will follow.

As much as people are hyping him up, Joker still doesn't like scoring on his own. Let him get his 40 points and try and limit him and Gordon on the boards. But if they double him again, *that's* when he starts getting dangerous.

I think the lakers got this fr, in however many games. Really look at the box score of their 3 matchups this year and and it's blatantly obvious the nuggets haven't faced THIS Lakers team that they currently are. In the season opener Rui wasn't starting, Prince played 30 minutes, Wood played 15 minutes, cam Reddish played 17 minutes. Not in these playoffs tho. Game 2 we played without a real PG as Dlo, Gabe, and even our Rook JHS was out. We started Christie who played 15 minutes, Prince played 35 minutes off the bench, Wood played 19 minutes, and a dude we just signed in Skylar Mays ended up playing basically half the 4th quarter. Not in these playoffs tho. Game 3 was closest to THESE lakers. We played the starters we are now and DEN starters outscored the lakers starters by a single point. And that's WITH MPJ going 10/10 from the field with 5 3s, dropping 25, and wit Gordon adding 18 of his own. MPJ scored 25 or more in 13/81 games, 16%. Gordon has had 18 or more in 17/73 games, 23%. What are the chances of them doing that again, particularly in the same game? And that's what it took to outscore the lakers starters by ONE POINT. Denver had the bench edge 20 to 13, giving them an 8 point win. That's when Dinwiddie was still adjusting and putting up shooting splits of 36/30/80. He had been here 2.5 weeks and DEN was his 8th game in LA. In the 20 games since then, his splits are 41/43/89 so he's found his role and rhythm now. Gabe wasn't back in that 3rd game either and Reddish played 19 minutes. None of those games are a valid measuring stick for the series to come. It's all zip zip now. I got the Lakers. Especially since Jokic and Gordan ain't shooting 3s at the clip they was in the playoffs last year. And Guess what, neither is Bron and Dlo. LET'S GO LAKESHOW!!!!

It comes down to film study. How did the team's that beat Denver accomplished that. Then how did the Lakers matchup to that team. From that a winning strategy can be devised. Unfortunately, the coaching staff or particularly Ham are not competent enough to do that type work or thinking. Plus the players have to do their parts in spotting tendencies of key players of Denver and practice attacking those tendecies.

The only way to stop Jokic is to put the Vandolorian on him. I predict that Lakers are saving Vando for this exact purpose. There is a historical context to this matchup. Remember when Dennis Rodman was put on Shaq? DRod didn't stop him but slowed him down, especially in rebounding. It has also been rumored that Vando grew 2 inches over the summer. That would mean he is 6'10". And Finally, Jaxon Hayes doesn't have enough weight, doesn't have the defensive experience and is too athletic for Jokic.
