IMO - just let LBJ have his HIGHEST USAGE EVER, paired with his LOWEST MINS EVER. The 7, 8, 9, 10 diet... 35ish mins. 1st Q = 7mins, 2nd Q = 8mins, 3rd Q = 9mins 4thQ = 10mins. This lets the King CLOSE games 👑🏆🏆🏆🏆... and trusts the young guns early! 💯💯💯

Highly disagree with Grant's deal. Grant will be 34 by the end of his deal. He doesn't rebound and after that trade we are still behind the top4 in the West, so it only push us from a 7/8 seed to a 5/6. We still don't have a POA defender and our bench is even weaker than now. Most importantly, sending the 29 and 31 picks means sending picks that will happen in years after Bron, AD and Grant are playing in the team and they are all above 35. Nowadays, there are no big FAs swings and you need to get your superstars by trade or draft. Without those picks we can't do either. So basically, we are mortgaging our future from 2026 to at least 2031 for a small upgrade in 24 and 25. That's not enough for me and I think that's why, justifiably, Rob's holding those picks for the right guy. The right guy is someone that will play in the team after Bron and AD, hence bringing the "sustained Lakers excellence", and I agree with that. I think Dejounte Murray was worth both picks so it's a pity it didn't happened. But we MUST trade those picks for a guy that can carry the team after Bron and AD, not someone within the same window because that's a recipe to be multiple years without competing and no Laker fan want that.
@jovanbuhaАй бұрын
It’s a fair counterpoint. I’m a bit higher on Grant and his potential impact than you are, but I get the skepticism. It could easily not work out or be worth it. I think if LA waits until the trade deadline, they could potentially get Portland to drop the ask to just one first-round pick, which is a significantly better deal. My larger point is I just don’t know if they’re going to get that type of player with two picks in the current marketplace. And if they don’t, I don’t think they have a real shot to win it all. A marginal upgrade - and I’d argue Grant is more than marginal - would at least nudge their minuscule odds closer to contention. I think LeBron and AD are worth investing in, even if it ultimately doesn’t pan out. But we’ll see. It appears to be trending more toward your argument.
@paulparrinello2526Ай бұрын
I think this team will be a 500 team. They won’t make the play in. The reason is Pelinka didn’t pick up a bruising big and another good wing. They are 2 players away from being a great team!
