Jaxson Hayes wants to be out with the Lakers as he believes that his talent and ability is wasted since he didn't get the time he expects. I think, he's better off with the other team where he can show his potentials. His energy brings excitement to the team.

I been advocating for Goga for a year now. He is mobile and aggressive. I would like to pair him up with Bol Bol on another min deal. Bol Bol has the height to block shots and he has 3pt range to play in a big lineup with AD and Lebron. I think a 3 man rotation of AD, Goga and Bol Bol would be a formidable center rotation for the budget restraint that the Lakers have.

To the people who think that the true center position is dead, Dallas just proved you wrong!!!! Without the incredible rookie Dereck Lively, A TRUE CENTER, Dallas would not have knocked out OKC!!!! Even Luka admitted that!!! Jaxson Hayes is the same type of player that Lively is but dumb as a rock Hamm had no idea and didn't play him enough!!! Hopefully the Lakers front office and soon to be chosen new coaching staff realize that SIZE MATTERS!!!!

Yes. AD shared the court with Hayes/Wood for well over 200 combined minutes. They interchanged defensively so you can’t say one or the other exclusively played the 5, but none of their 2-big lineups were effective. The Hayes/AD lineups were some of their lowest rated lineups per net rating.

@@JSM24 This is where statistics can be misleading. Was ugly but West leading basketball in the bubble. Today Nuggets have 3 players the height of AD in their lineup. Lakers lost on the boards, and only win was when they won the boards. I am doubtful the lakers optimized the point of a two big line up, to get low risk high reward 3 point shots and offensive boards that turn into easy points . Joker's POWER is the point. A non 7 footer cannot slow his jumper. I would have rather lost with more Hayes in that situation, which the Lakers should never have been in, as he has stepped up in the past and provides energy, and even "dumb" fouls can be part of momentum shifts. He may develop more skills. Lakers need excess big help, one a developer (Hayes right now) 2 established board dominance rim protection centers, 1 being AD obv, and a stretch 4/5 . Is there any data on Drummond and Joker?

I remember you did a video on Colin Castleton last, and I think you were pretty upbeat about him. I just checked, and saw that he'll be 24 next week. Of course, he was injured late in the year and got very little playing time except for the South Bay squad. So do you think he's reached his ceiling and won't have any chance of filling this role?

I like Castleton, he reminds me of a young Mason Plumlee (albeit with a lower defensive IQ). I don’t think he’s reached “his ceiling” per say, but his main problem is that the game moves a bit too fast for him yet. Though, the Lakers holding onto him via a two-way contract all year despite him missing over a month with an injury is telling of their belief in him. I think he’ll get one more shot next season, though he will have a short leash.

No thanks to either....if the lakers are looking for a bargain & care about their present AND future, take a look at Yves Missi as a 17th pick (which should be available). I think you will be pleasantly surprised. He has all of the important attributes the Lakers need in a big...a 7 footer with a 7-6 wingspan who offers great rim protection, mobility, lateral quickness, a quick bounce to complement his verticality & a promising offensive skill set. And if the Lakers are truly interested in interior/versatile D with elite athleticism, I would also keep an eye on Adem Bona if available...however, my guess is he sneaks into the end of the first or near top of the 2nd. Both dudes offer what the Lakers need, but both are also limited in ways that the Lakers don't necessarily need again. Both are very capable interior defenders and shot-blockers, as well as good rebounders. However, from a versatility standpoint, I'd go with Tillman for the simple fact that he possesses the ability to space the floor, switch quickly to guards and other positions, a pesky ball pest, and averaged nearly 2.0SPG as a PF/C, which is not very common in the NBA. And it's not like the Lakers already don't have an undersized but versatile PF/C in Christian Wood, which I pray gets more playing time, maybe even a starting role. IF the Lakers acquire Tillman, they should immediately pursue either Dwight Howard or Andre Drummond.

I dont understand the budget yet in the NBA im a new fan but how can the lakers not have enough money to get a decent player if they are only paying AD and lebron big money? And everyone else is on friendly contracts? Meanwhile you got teams like Celtics who are paying big money to 4 of their starters? Brown, Tatum, Holiday and Porzingus are all getting paid big money so how does that work?

Every team has a maximum amount of money they can spend called the salary cap. Once you hit the salary cap limit, you can not sign any more players beyond the veteran minimum. However, if you are retaining your own players, you can spend beyond the cap to keep your own players. The Celtics can do so because they are keeping their own players they can't go out and add another star player.

Trade Jaxson Hayes for Bitadze since Jaxson is very vocal on leaving the team. Valanciunas and Bitadze are 😢perfect for the team. Mavericks has 2 big men, Daniel Gafford 6'10" and Derick Lively 7'1" that both helps them so much in the regular season and playoffs. Especially that Lively who is a rookie, now plays like a pro. This looks like they already found the missing link. As we can see, Luka and Kyrie are very confident on where they are now, noving to the Western conference finals. While the Warriors are also planning in getting 2 centers. It would be perfect if Lakers will have 3 legit center, thus they may consider on getting McGee or zach Edey. So that the Lakers can always have 2 big men on the floor. 0:27

The irony of this! Darvin Ham coached with Milwaukee for 5 years. In that time period, Giannis didn't play C. He played PF along side Lopez! Giannis won 2 MVP, 1 DPOY and Milwaukee won a title. The Lakers won a title in 2020 and went away from AD at PF. Imagine what the Lakers would have done having AD playing PF the last 3 years. I know the NBA has changed with small. The perfect play for AD and the Lakers should have been that the game always start with AD at PF next to a C. This also changed depending on the opponent like if LA is playing Minnesota. Most teams in the NBA today aren't starting two 7 footers like Minnesota. The Lakers should be starting a C with a back C/PF that plays 20 to 30 alongside AD. Those minutes change depending on foul trouble, injury, AD resting or AD just taking a day off. That is how the Lakers lineup should have been the last 3 years.

I actually think an AD/Olynyk frontcourt could be effective. Olynyk would stretch the floor and make plays while AD would continue scoring in the paint. On defence AD could still be the main rim protector but also be the roamer at times, and the rebounding would not fall solely on AD’s shoulders.

Or seldomly. Again Ham was a head scratcher!

Wood averaged over 17 mpg, not 12. Part of it was Ham/Lakers style of play, but the even bigger part was Wood simply not making open shots, along with trying to force things offensively. Which, made him “fit out” rather than “fitting in”.
