Austin Reeves is one of the best no. three players on any team. He's not an A player, he's a B+ player and one of the best. He still has a couple of more years at becoming smarter, just all around better, without physical deterioration. Within one to two years he can become an A player, at least as a ceiling, and even if he doesn't, you have one of the best third player on a team (where the rest of the team has some good players and isn't gutted) you're going to see.

Tbh I think Larry Bird was just born in the right era. Don't get me wrong, AR is not Bird and never will, but when you compare their athleticism, defense and offense, they are very similar. Bird is just bigger with better intangibles and slightly better consistency. If Bird plays in this era he'll be a top 20 player at best. But yet playing in a slow era back in the 80s benefited him. Agreed. Reaves plays hard and makes the most of his talent despite limited athleticism. He's on a very reasonable contract too. People who constantly criticize him oftentimes have an agenda by playing favorites with other players on the team who are also flawed, like D-Lo for example; the same D-Lo who plays zero D and vanishes in the playoffs. Reaves earning a lot of respect, and any other team in the league would be happy to have him on their roster

The refs invited a physical game with Detroit. The Lakers are not a physical team. They are more of a finesse team. There are certain teams that come hard at the Lakers; Detroit, Sacramento, Orlando, Denver, Houston, Clippers, just to name a few. And it all starts down low.
