@@ThrifterGuy he is terrible on this team.. people dont understand that he doesnt fit the modern era of center arch type. and esp alongside a guy like ad he would have minimal impact. would much rather go for centers like valancunas and robert williams cuz they cost so less that u can turn around and fix your real starting line up issues like our 3 and 2 positions.

@@hwnight2985 brother ur not looking at the larger picture.. we have 40 mil worth of dead weight contracts... its not about the money its about the resources we have for trades. giving up our firsts for a minimal impact player like kessler is not worth it. he lacks all the things needed to succeed as a center in the modern era. the utah jazz are a minus 2 with him on the floor on defense.. there is a reason for that. also why are we so focused on fixing our backup big position when we have real issues at our 3 and 2 positions in the starting line up. we need sure up the spot max is at because he is still very young and u cant trust him in big games, he is even inconsistent in regular season games. with a guy like finney smith on the roster guys like vando and rui have become more expendable than before, we need real 2 way players instead of them. rui's inconsistency on offense and lack of any ability on defense is hurting us too. his game is redundant with lebron too so its not a great fit either.

When he's on the court they are miles better than with that rookie Sarr. Also, stayed healthy through all his carrer. He is not athletic at all though, that's true. Slow and not great at catching lobs. Overall, not a perfect player, but not a donkey either.

I want to see Vucevic on this team so bad, dude is shooting like 45% from 3. I don’t get why everyone has decided the center has to be all defense. AD is on this team and with Vucevic being a great rebounder AD can make up for his defense. It would keep a consistent scorer and able big body on the floor and against teams like the Cavs or Denver he would come in huge. Nobody is stopping Jokic and Vuc being able to make him work on D would help tire him out instead of him taking that side to rest.

The thing is tho, as much as I want them to trade for a big man, JJ has said in a post-game presser like a few weeks ago or something that he didn't like the idea of playing two bigs (AD & Koloko) on the court at the same time. Koloko is available to play and he hasn't been terrible yet JJ doesn't play him much (part of it is that he doesn't trust Koloko in certain defensive situations). JJ has never played AD & Koloko together in the same lineup this season so far. Even if the Lakers get a big, I don't think JJ will play AD with another big often. Via Cleaning the Glass, AD & Hayes have played 66 possessions together out of the 3077 possessions so far this season in 8 different lineups. Only 3 out of the those 8 lineups had a positive differential and those 3 lineups had 2 common factors besides AD & Hayes playing together: 1. no LeBron in those lineups and 2. DLo was in all those 3 lineups. I'm not suggesting anything regarding those 2 common factors but it is interesting. JJ has been utilizing small ball more often these past few games with Rui or LeBron at the 5. If the Lakers do get a big, that big is going to come off the bench and I don't think he will start. Yeah, JJ has said months ago that the Lakers could use a bruising big but from what we've seen so far, it looks like JJ is going to continue with going small in my opinion even if the Lakers do trade another big. I hope I'm wrong

If LAL only have one move left, I would prefer a point of attack defender rather than waste it on a back up center. The West contenders have a lot of great guards that can pick n roll AR, Rui to Death. It would put a lot a pressure on AD to come out thus giving up a lot of offensive rebound. If we drop coverage it would be an open mid range for the likes of Shai, Kyrie, Ja, Jamal, Jalen & other fast guards who can have also go fast off the pick & put pressure on a unfavorable switch which will force LAL to help thus opening up Threes.

Not the splashy trade most of us usually hope for. But alongside us adding DFS and Milton, if we got this deal done and picked up a 2 way ball handling PG with the extra roster spot (buyout or free agency, we are set. In today’s nba depth trumps top heavy talent. And having as many 2 way players is the key to a championship roster build. Instead of throwing all of our chips on one “star” and ruining our depth, this trade plus the free agent or buyout PG addition gives us a pretty deep roster with more 2 way players, more athleticism, and versatility. Reaves, Christie, Lebron, DFS, AD Fultz(ex)., Green, Rui, Vando, Richards Milton, Knecht, Reddish, Hayes Scary

I believe the Lakers should target Bruce Brown to pair with Reaves in the backcourt. Brown’s athleticism, ability to guard positions 1-3, and support in orchestrating the offense would be a perfect fit. While Max has performed well, an experienced player who understands how to win in a defined role would be ideal. After that, the focus should shift to acquiring a backup center, whether it’s Kessler or Sharpe from Brooklyn. When building a roster, the priority should be the starting unit, which plays most minutes, followed by 3-4 quality role players. Trading key assets like the last two first-round picks for multiple role players doesn’t seem like the best approach, in my opinion.

@ I’m sure the Lakers aren’t basing their decisions on what fans think. Clearly, you don’t hold Austin Reaves in high regard, and that’s fine. No one is claiming he’s a superstar, and that’s perfectly okay. However, denying that he performs exceptionally well under the brightest lights and on the biggest stage is hard to argue. I was simply sharing my opinion on what I think would be best for the Lakers in terms of guard depth. They already have a skilled, three-level scoring guard in Austin, someone who has consistently shown he’s unafraid of big moments. So why wouldn’t the Lakers look to pair him with a solid, defensive-minded guard with great playoff experience, especially if they have the assets to make it happen? It sounds like you believe the Lakers shouldn’t even bother making moves because you think AR isn’t good enough. But here’s the thing: the player every GM asks for in trade talks with the Lakers is AR15. Why? Maybe it’s because he has one of the best-value contracts in the league for someone who wasn’t drafted in the top three. Maybe it’s because he’s proven he can play efficiently alongside two superstars. Or maybe it’s because he has the respect of the team’s two biggest stars. 🤷‍♂️

Lakers need a starting center, somebody to bang with the big man. We can't have AD, who is 4 , continue to bang with Centers. We also need a scorer off the bench. A microwave type of player. If Dalton does not start, we have no 3 point threat on the floor, so other teams will crowd the paint like the Cavs did. Your most hated laker DLO fixed that problem even when he wasn't scoring. They had to guard him. Now, we are doomed unless we can fill that gap. This is what happens when you make a trade for no other reason but to satisfy fans who expect a trade every off-season unless a chiampionship is won.

I like DFS but with this team I think we have to go bigger! If the next moves don’t involve at least 1 first rounder. We’re not getting that much better. I’d have rather seen both our 1sts gone for sharpe and cam.

Tbh I’m gonna need to see Dalton Knecht step it up again I know he’s just a rookie still but we know he’s capable of being a good offensive player💯 Either that or I’m perfectly okay with trading him in a package for De’Arron Fox; that Big 3 of Fox, Bron and AD for us would be amazing🔥💜💛! Dalton had his run of good games for us when he started but since moving to the bench he really hasn’t been much of a factor. Gonna need to see him go on another scoring outlet or fans (myself included), are gonna see him as another pop corn machine player like D’Lo. (Can get hot with streaky shooting but can’t maintain the heat check)

The fact that we don’t even think about last years 1st round pick for any minutes at all when we have no depth at PG shows we need to get rid of him, even if it’s for nothing practically. We could’ve had some decent guard depth from the FA market, it’s time to move on.

Little by little the Lakers are just rebuilding the 2020 championship team model of two 3&D wings, two centers who can rebound and score 9ppg, and guards who weren’t league premier but can turn it on during the playoffs. It’s mind boggling how the Lakers given all that back in 2020, and Pelinka dismantled it only to come back to rebuild it now. Currently, the guards are there, the 3&D’s somewhat, not sure about the current centers getting 9ppg with rebounding. The Lakers got Marc Gasol because they wanted spacing so go get Kessler.its doubtful if any of the other currently available non-spacing centers will be as good rebounding and guarding the paint as Howard/McGee with 9ppg. Drummond, Gabriel, TBryant, all failed.

Makes no sense to get Jonas instead of Vucevic. Vucevic is a 20/10 player with better efficiency, size, rebounding, passing than Rui Hachimura. If no Kessler, then get Vucevic and a guard. Ayo Dosunmu is worth pushing for.

Vucevic is not a good defender, he is however a player that puts forth the same effort as Rui and would be an absolute ideal fit on the offensive side of the ball. And there is a huge difference between Chicago and having AD, DFS, Max, Lebron, Cam, and a potential Vando around him. Kessler, Myles makes sense over Vuc, Nick Richards is close because of contract, Jonas makes zero sense.
