Fishing boat coming in over the bar. Apparently he had tried earlier and had been spun around sideways and had to retreat and try later. Can't say I would have been trying at all...

I have watched the entrance there many times and that was clearly a very tricky set of waves to come in with and as you know trawlers don't move fast so you can't just wait for a gap between the waves you've just got to ride it in and hope as well as work hard and smart. He is good!!!

fished that bar as a scalloper in the 80s and 90s , a lot of hair Raising experiences coming out and in , but hey was fun

The danger is hitting the bottom and copping the waves with larger vessels, rolling over can be the result.

While you sit and wait for the right opportunity sometimes you get sideways because you can't steer when you're not moving. He could have charged in. Lesser of two evils. Camera angle hides a lot that he was weighing up down there

Yeah , Grope , Chris as engineer, Narbi/ engineer , Matt , Kane from Eden Juniors brother Cooda. Joffa another relief skipper Sparow was another. Along with a bunch of other deckhands names i can't remember. Good times bud. Pity about Grope leaving us so soon.
