Have you ever been hiking over several days? Any recommendations for long-distance trails out there? Who is keen on hiking the BergeSeen trail in the Salzkammergut once 🏔🇦🇹?
@seadragondrawings78435 жыл бұрын
Bugs & Bears. If you ever go back to Australia. Try Wilsons Promontory National Park. The park is about 5 hours from Melbourne. There are many scenic long distance hikes that you can camp on. One of my favourite hikes is from Tidal River to South Point (the southernmost point of mainland Australia!) and hiking back up through the bush to Little Waterloo Bay. There are many places to set up your tent after a long day of bushwalking!!

We should definitely do that and we'd love to visit Australia again once - it was one of our highlights during our world trip! Thank you so much for your recommendations! We highly appreciate that! Cheers from Austria, Doris & Matthias 👨🏻👩🏻🦰

I just stumbled on your video looking for some hiking suggestions in the Austrian Alps. Thank you for the beautiful documentary. I'm so much into hiking and and I'm dreaming of a long distance hike on my own. If the Universe allows, I would go for it this summer. I've been to Attersee last year but only did some cycling and driving around the lake. The weather wasn't its best, hehe.

I can't even imagine being in those temperatures that Gerlinde was in on the Alaskan peak! How amazing that this trail connects 35 lakes! April agrees, the "Krapfen" are healthy for hikes...hahaha! They look delicious. LOL, puppy in the pants 😂 Yay for ruins! Noticed the knee braces, Matthias--April has residuals from an old knee injury...do those help with the pain when hiking? We have never done long-distance hiking, but this looks like so much fun...we'd like to try it! Especially if we don't have to tent-camp each night 👍
@bugsandbears4 жыл бұрын
Good to know that April also agrees to the "Krapfen" being healthy for hikers 😅! Perfect! And that puppy in the pants surprised everyone - yep! Sorry to hear about April's knee injury. Yeah I use the knee braces as a precaution, but recently I fell in love with hiking sticks. They make every step so much softer for the knees and you can use hand power for walking (so you're more efficient in hiking). Thought they were for "elderly people" only 😅 but now I totally get why they make sense. Cheers, Matthias
@GoTravelOnTheCheap4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, April has been using hiking sticks more often--very helpful!

I have never did long distance hiking over several days before. I honestly don’t know if my feet could handle it. But your hike looks like it was so much fun! And the swim breaks was even better!
@bugsandbears4 жыл бұрын
I'm sure most feet can survive long distance hiking. You just gotta prepare yourself and slowly adapt to longer distances and hours of hiking. Thanks for watching! Cheers from Austria, Doris & Matthias 👨🏻👩🏻🦰

Love "Wandering" in Austria however I have not yet done a long distance trail system - This video has me thinking my vacation plans may change for this summer Being from British Columbia , the hiking in Austria is much different. Over here there are no connecting trails or towns - only logging roads and old trails -- pack gear is a little different also - 12 gauge shotgun minimum :-)
@bugsandbears4 жыл бұрын
Hey Robert - thanks for your feedback. Yes, hiking here in Austria is indeed a little different from British Columbia 😅. But we've enjoyed our hikes there and in the Yucon territory a lot (and survived even without 12 gauge shotgun 😉). Which area do you live there? Cheers from Austria, Doris & Matthias 👨🏻👩🏻🦰

Wow such a gorgeous video!! I probably wouldn't hike up the mountains since I'm terrible at it but I would definitely do the train. Interesting that she said Japan uses "forest therapy". We grew up in Japan and have never heard of that but I believe it. Nature does wonders. I have to look it up now!
@bugsandbears5 жыл бұрын
I guess there are so many interesting things happening at the same time in Japan, you can't possibly follow all of them 😊. But forest bathing is definitely an interesting invention.

Danke, das freut uns! Wir haben einen Lowepro Pro Tactic 450 Aw für unser Kameraequipment und einen 35L Sportrucksack von Pieps dabei. BEAUTIFUL video! The only long distance hikes I've done were in the UK🇬🇧 - the Northumberland Coastal Path (we camped) and the Southwest Coastal path, well before I started vlogging. Both are stunning, and quite different to the one you did. I also had a couple of days hiking in Albania⛰️ (around/from Theth to Valbona - part of the Balkans Peaks), which was incredible. Looked a little like some of the parts you went through, but more rustic. Really love your content and I think your travel style is similar to mine so very happy to Subscribe and see your future videos 😀

Hey 👋 ! We've just looked up the Northumberland Coastal Path and it looks stunning. Can imagine how it must've been to wake up there right on the coast, looking out of your tent. Omg, that castle - there are some epic pictures on Google popping up. We've also thought about Albania already as we'd love to discover more beautiful places in Eastern Europe. We've subscribed too ☺️.

@@bugsandbears I think you'd love the Northumberland one. First night we saw dolphins from shore, and one night we spent by an old war pill box. Just bring plenty of water each day!! Hi! Danke das freut uns sehr! Hast du dich schonmal nach Facebook-Gruppen umgeschaut? Such dort mal nach "Wandern in ..." Doris & Matthias
