It was 2009 at the Remington Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma when they had this outdoor concert.. I’m trying to remember all the groups like Tank, SWV, Ohio Players, and Lakeside which was the last act for the night.. They came on and the main was the lead singer had this voice and that just raise the level of excitement.. He made you move even you was setting there trying to be cool. And looked out in the crowd and black folks moving to the sound. Some old timers were showing the younger generation all the fancy steps and the young folks couldn’t copy. And as looked around you were entertained by all the break outs women shaking it up .. You standing in awe like you want to say, Damn! I’m caught up in the sound. I told my son and daughter that this is what it’s all about the groups not the sample music.. We had the best as we enjoyed the 60s and the 70s. Our music we listened to was second to none..And Lakeside took us on a musical journey which I shall never forget.. Go see them they are the greatest as all groups we enjoyed back then.. Needless to say we were lucky and blessed to have lived during that era.. Ham mercy.. Getting my groove on before work.. LB June 2022

In 1984 Lakeside came to my hometown Santa Maria, Ca and did a concert at the Vets Memorial Building. I approached them at the bus after the concert. Broke out a bottle of tequilla and took shots with the band members. They were kind enough to autograph a picture. Awesome memory. Funkiest band in the Land.

Lakeside is one of my favorite groups of late 1970's & 1980's one of my favorite songs by them is It's All The Way Live which I do believe it was their 1st hit ? Lakeside really didn't get more recognition that they deserve I am glad I did get a chance to see them in person in 1983 or 1984 that concert was the boss because along with Lakeside was Cameo & Oneway there was so many other fanstatic groups in that era such as The Gap Band , Cameo WOW !! ☺what an era it was. 🎶🎸 🎹 🎷 5-5 -19

totally agree with you raymond we need a new musical revolution bring back original music, funk soul and jazz fusion and jazz funk , bring back bands like sun, dayton, sidewinders, midnight starr, con funk shun, kleeer freeez light of the world, aurra, ozone etc etc. todays artists and there auto tune button needs to be shoved right up where the sun don,t shine their lost and they have no talent wot so ever. there are very few bands that do this style of music anymore. i would check out cool million from holland and the sunburst band from yorkshire england. for some 21st century funk and soul. peace from lokey

I just saw Mark Woods' live in Houston. I like Mark a lot but the Original Lakeside is much better. You lose a lot when you don't have Otis Stokes, Thomas Shelby and Stephen Shockley. Mark is great on songs like Fantastic Voyage and Raid, but you don't have the harmonies on the slow jams like "Say Yes." Also, there isn't the same presentation regarding in the overall performance like you have here. On the other hand, Clinton DeLoach is a fine stand in for what Mark added. There is only one Lakeside and these guys are it.

The group was Steven Shockley's group the guitar player , Mark was the voice and thought he was bigger than the band , he went behind the groups back and did some David Ruffin type of shit and bought the name , he was the voice but you can't replace the original Lakeside band that's been together since they were kids , it was on Unsung on how it happened
