Kitzy kat I play in a band and my guitar player plays more Emo style rock. He attempted to play some straight funk guitar like Dazz Band style. He had the hardest time ever. I try to tell him, its more of a feeling. You got to feel the funk in order to produce the sounds.

Well they did but the business is based on currant not the past. I went to school with these guys and my cousin played lead guitar for Slave. We all had parents who got us all the instruments we needed to stay the hell out of trouble. This is what happens to kids who listen to the parents and learn to flip the music lessons into something funky. This is why voting matters. Bush took all the music out of schools and civics too. You cant find anyone who can play anything anymore because they think DJs are musicians lol

Modern black people do sing more of that. Record labels manipulate Rap artists into gangsta lyrics. When you turn to a black radio station, you only hear what's being marketed. The older classic artists are still out there, as well as a lot of great new talent. You just have to know where to look.
