Very informative. We have a 2-3 year plan to relocate down there from PA. We will be down there this summer for a second visit getting to know the area and might drop by for guidance. I just wanted to let you know, The kids and I are sold on moving to Florida. My wife is still holding out because she doesn't know if she can deal with the heat. That's going to be your hard sell. We do love it where we are in PA, but I'm ready for a change of lifestyle and Lakewood Ranch seems to have everything we are looking for.

I have 2 daughters. They love amusement and water parks, I know your about 2.5 hours from Disney and an hour away from Bush Gardens. Are there any other smaller water or amusement parks nearby? Thanks for your help.

Hi Jeffrey! Thanks for commenting! There is the North Port Aquatic Center just 30 minutes south of us and a few in St Pete (closer than Tampa). There are "splash parks" nearby and in certain communities that would also be fun for your girls (depending on how young they are) but not to the magnitude of Busch Gardens.

Disney is about 5 hours away from Sarasota, that's with traffic, some of the worst in the state.

Thanks for commenting Joseph. Actually, we have done this commute countless times and are just under a 2 hour drive (with normal traffic) from the parks at Disney. Enjoy!

@@Joseph-xj4ex When I was down there I was looing in many different cities for places to live. We spent a week in Saint Augostine. From there we traveled accross to Lithia near Tampa. We stopped at Disney Springs for lunch. ABout 2 hours 15 minutes Then another hour to Lithia near Tampa. A trip from Lithia to Lakewood Ranch in Sarasota was an Hour and 15 Minutes. We did have some traffic along the way. I know I can Make it from Sarassota to Disney in less than 2.5 hours, and to Bushgardens in Tampa in about 1.5 hours.

When you were talking about pricing on each of these neighborhoods within Lakewood Ranch are you talking about the land only or land and house or condo or whatever? Because you don't define whether or not this is just for the piece of property or a house on the piece of property. It be nice to know what is included in the price is you're quoting because I have a particular model I am considering building here in Lakeland however I think I would prefer to be there even though I'm not a fan of red tide. I live in Lakeland now

Hello Karen! Thank you so much for your question. When we are discussing pricing, this does include the cost of the home and the lot/land. Depending on the community, there are varying levels of lot upgrades. Thankfully, Lakewood Ranch is just far enough away from the coast that we do not feel any of the effects of Red Tide.
