My 78yr old father is one of the last few full blooded Native Americans left. After being taken from his home, he grew up in residential homes, being beaten and starved in horrid orphanages. He’s been through the hardest trials no human should ever face. But he’s still here today and the most gentle, loving, kind hearted man I know. I was reading through the comments on this video and it made me sad to see how many people know nothing about Native history. Take the time to learn.. you will be amazed.

There is always two histories when it comes to us Indians. The one we know and the one that the white man tells! It is safe to say that nobody here know that President Abraham Lincoln executed more Indians at on time then any other race in history. 301 were sent to hang for leaving the reservation to find food that was cut off to the reservation by Lincoln's orders... the food and budget sent to the troops fighting in the civil war. Lincoln forced these people to break the law to eat and he punished them by death for their actions! Good ol' honest Abe isn't so great!

@@georgewashingtonsanchez4836 You are correct pale chief of the USA. There are many full-blooded wagon burners scattered across this Holy Land but I had a vision. One that showed me a steel horse coming across ours lands and with it it would bring your people to cover the valleys and plains. They would be thick as Locust. Far too many for my people and this natural habitat to sustain. The vision also showed me that the pale one would show his Mighty power by Destroying all things in his sight to become First. This vision also showed me that these pale people who became first, one day will be the last and the ones last will end up first. The vision was right as the paradigm shift has begun.

Native American tribes have embraced Islamic teachings. In apostasy (Christianity) by the Spanish colonizers. Already devoted to Allah. Why not return to know tauhid. KNOWING ALLAH 'AZZA WA JALLA By Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab When asked: Who is your God? Then say: My God is Allah who has guarded me and guarded the universe with all the blessings He has bestowed. besides Him. Allah says in the Quran Surah Thaha : 14 'Indeed, I am Allah, there is no god but Me, so worship Me and pray to remember Me.

So much props to her mom. She is a strong and amazing women. I stand by her words when she tells her daughter that her daughter may feel what she feels, but when the baby is born, to never blame the baby of the change in the daughters life. Nothing more true. A newborn is life and a blessing. But anyway, the daughter followed through and graduated and even accomplished her goals. Empowering women here. Love it.

I think the truth is "we owe it to them" to try to "clean up" what "our" ancestors did "in return" was not okay. They took advantage of their kindness and chose to become a nuisance neighbor. It is up to the current generations to help not just patch things up but to hold those who still taking advantage accountable and learn from their mistakes what not to do. We all need each other especially now. Our entire species is at risk due to all of our actions.

We need to teach children their true family roots and history. I am tired of hiding my Indian heritage because I look like a white girly girl. Lol. I recently was told I am from several tribes. Navajo, Cherokee and Blackfoot. My Papa Cochran’s tribe started in Arkansas. I am continually thankful for all of my roots but most proud of my Indian heart and strong spirit. I will never stop fighting for my life. I am so thankful for all my family and friends. Especially my husband who helped save my life and preserved my sanity. It is a difficult journey blending two vastly different families through marriage but it is worth the struggle. I have had many health problems in the past and he has helped me get healthier. I am still not one hundred percent but I know I am a work in progress. Nobody’s family is perfect and trials should make us stronger. My Mother wanted to name me Windy Dawn but my Father liked what was chosen before after Julie Andrews. I love the message shared in this little these inspirational stories. Breaks my heart how my people were and are treated. Y’all are precious.

Fernando Mari iglesias ide Another thing I don’t call European decent what they want to be called “white”. Since they the the one that started the ridiculous color coding crap 💩 really as a comparison to the African American and to make themselves look better and so I call them wha they really are “PINK” If u look in the dictionary at the meaning of black u will see words like depress, evil, dirty etc. If u look up the meaning of “white” you will words like clear, innocent, angelic, pure etc. Further more if you look at compound words with the word black before it not all but a lot of those words are bad; such as black-sheep, black-market, black magic, blacklist, etc Now if you look up compound words with the word white before it THEY ARE ALL GOOD EVEN A LIE IS GOOD if u just put the word white b4 it, noise is good if you put the word white b4 it etc. As many innocent people they prosecuted n killed they do not deserve to b called white and so I just call them what they really are “pink” And some are orange but that’s from a tan gone wrong they PINK NOT WHITE

Did you know that a contract exists between the tribe of Comanches and German emigrants from the Westerwald more than 150 years has been closed? This contract never became Broken! For this reason, a group of Comanches was in the May and June '98 on a tour through Germany. There are Germans who have Indian ancestors in their family that go back in time when Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show was on tour throughout Europe. Since the end of the Second World War, and have been Native American Soldiers with the American Armed Forces in Germany stationed. Also with Europeans - and the Germans from Friedrichsburg - On May 9, 1847, the chief chieftains of the Comanches joined forces Peace treaty that was never broken. The contract included also that the Comanches protect the Germans, persons of both Nations everywhere, that the Comanches with the Residents from Friedrichsburg and the other cities trade and they also closed a mutual Assistance pact. In 1845 the nobility club sent a capable administrator, the Baron Ottfried Hans von Meusebach, to Texas. He quickly arranged the financial affairs, land in the hill country bought 80 miles along the Pedernales River, in the northwest of the "Neuen Braunfels" and founded a new city, which he called Freiedrichsburg. 1847 It was obvious that the combative Comanche Indians in their area were not ready to join their countries to this new group to cede to foreign invaders. In January of 1847, Baron von Meusebach rode, along with one Interpreters and a small group of men along the Saba River to the main camp of the Comanche. He negotiated a contract with the Comanche leaders, the German colonists at Fredricksburg allowed to live in peace. In return, they received gifts worth a few thousand dollars. It is generally believed that this is the only treaty between native Indians and European colonist who has never been broken. At the second Saturday of every May, they celebrate the day of graduation in Fredricksburg. It is an important German cultural event along with an indian powwow that's always a gathering between the surviving descendants of Baron von Meusebach and the Descendants of the Comanche include leaders who were originally over negotiated the contract. Gifts are exchanged, then the peace with the smoking of the sacred pipe renewed. The contract is expressly confirmed again.

Those eyes are somthing too. Gotta say they remind me of starlights. My eyes are also brown but not a deep brown like that. I found out two months ago that I have small percentage of Wyandot( Idigious to Lake Erie on the Eastern part of Michigan). Four percent must mean that it may lead to just one person but I wonder whom it may be and how he or she may be a part of my family's history. I looked up that they did have close trade negotiations with French settlers(which is not suprising because the French were not as domineering as other Europeans and even used their ability to negotiate to an advantage by working with the host nations) which may give a little hint since my mom's side does have a big percentage of French.

Uh, sadly these US whites are already doing this to us man. I even think that they even sold out that Kashoggi fella because he spoke out against them too like he did the Crown Prince. That's why US whites are no different than our own that hold predjudice. My father even said that now they have to number anyone with the first name as the Lebanese prime minister after he had a close encounter with some of "our own" alt right thugs.

It saddens me that the real Americans, the indigenous, suffer greatly with mental health, alcoholism and other struggles that is a legit concern for everyone. Meanwhile you have the faux “Americans” who claim to be American because their passport and birth certificate says so, but they aren’t American by blood and they worry about identity politics. The lands in which they took from the indigenous, and these colonials have the gall to say they are American just because they know the history and their family have lived there for so long since the 16th Century, while the real Americans have lived here since the dawn of civilisation.

Diane Sawyer is too clumsy and out of touch for this kind of a feature... She was basically horrendous in all of the segments... christ.

So Diane Sawyer with all your multi millions, TV persona influence & power...what have you done since this self glorifying series to help the beautiful reverent ever stoic, resiliant peoples of the entire North American Native nations? Thought so...just let them suffer in the freezing cold, hunger & prayer for better future. Shame on you.

He should have given his mother an abortion!

I just dont get why cant she just abort to make things easier for herself then have a baby after finishing her college degree. I see the same thing reflected in many documentaries: young couple, baby comes by "surprise", they have to take some shitty job (if lucky) while living still with their respective parents, etc.
