We grow from pressure not comfort. Therefore, putting someone under pressure and saying the things which aren’t easily received is vital for personal development. Absolutely the goal is love and growth, but that isn’t to say that “mean” things can’t be rooted in love. In other words, just because something sounds hurtful doesn’t mean it’s wasn’t the most loving thing you could have said. And so once again tough loves the best kind.
